Not sure what the actual values are - but I do have issues 1 & 2 of DC's ongoing Hellblazer series.

Also have issues 8, 12+ of the original Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, only missing the last 6-7 issues (it had been losing steam, so I stopped collecting).

Also have most of Grant Morrison's work on Doom Patrol.

Don't know if it's even worth anything, but I also have the full run (about 12 issues) of DC's "Crisis" series - when they effectively re-wrote the entire DC universe in the 1980's.

Probably more, but those are the ones I remember most distinctly.

Of course, you buy them to read, not sell, but it's nice to know it's not just junk paper in the loft. :)

Did you know there were two Crisises (Crises)?

The first one happened in the 60s, I think, and was called Crisis on Multiple Earths. It was meant to explain the changes of many characters from the Golden Age to Silver Age version, such as the Flash whose costume and identity just completely changed. It was also meant to be a means to allow the older characters to occasionally crossover into ongoing story-lines, a plan that was never really followed up on.

The 80's Crisis - Crisis on Infinite Earths was, once again, a vast undertaking that was intended to deal with various continuity issues, and evolved into a rather good story thankfully. It also killed a lot of characters, including Supergirl. :(

I must confess that, much as I enjoyed the Crisis story arc, this is the sort of thing that puts me off the whole DC stable - they try so many different angles on these characters that they have that after some time it all starts wearing a bit thin. Much though I love Batman, yet another insight into his tormented psyche just doesn't appeal to me. The project where Stan Lee re-imagined various CD heros sparked a little interest, but really, it's symptomatic of what I'm talking about.

Oh about comics being valuable - of course they are, but I'd never sell mine! The most valuable ones I have are probably just a few old issues of Warrior, in any case.

I think there was a comics boom in the late eighties-early nineties where so many copies were printed and sold that you wouldn't get much now. What do I know, though?
(Incidentally, I have a first addition Tarzan of the Apes in okay condition, but the publisher was the foreign reprint house not the original British house, so it's worth bugger-all. C'est le vie.)

I have the 12 issue series of DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths - plus the comic to explain the errors in the series (so funny)...

I also have a 2000AD No 2 - with free gift (bionic transfers from the MACH-1 series)... Near mint condition...

Other than that I don't think many of my comics, graphic novels, etc are worth a great deal - guess I should do an inventory and find out how much they are all worth...

I said:
Heh, the errors one sounds interesting. :)
It is very interesting, but spoils the series some what, when you realise that there was obviously a breakdown in sorting out the errors before printing...

I'll see if I can find details of it... Or if I can find the comic itself...

Don;t worry too much - do you mean the reasons why the Crisis on Infinite Earths was required - or the actual errors in the storyline of "risis on Inifnite Earths"?

(And yah, boo, I thought it would be rarer!!) :D
