Just How Rich Is He?
From the Syfy portal
He isn't inheriting Wal-Mart or Microsoft, but that doesn't mean Patrick Stewart (Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, "Star Trek: The Next Generation") can't be listed on the all-time moneymakers lists.
Stewart, who is prepping to star in "Star Trek: Nemesis" later this month as well as the highly-anticipated "X-Men 2" later next year, was listed among the top 10 British-born show business money makers for 2001.
In a list led by "Hannibal" star Anthony Hopkins, Stewart finished No. 7, tying him with "Star Wars" actor Ewan McGregor and comedian Tracy Ullman. Ridley Scott, who directed the Oscar-award winning "Gladiator" finished second. However, other big names like Michael Caine and Sean Connery were only able to finish tied at 15.
Star Trek UK reports that Stewart has the star power to demand up to £5 million per motion picture, or approximately $7.5 million.
