Well, I turned on the t.v. (telly) early this morning and found myself looking at RDA selling a Minutepass (sp?) - basically a calling card that you can put more minutes on by using another charge card.

He looked good (dressed like he is for the Showtime intro), but the ad was a little . . . sorry, RDA, it was a little cheesy.

Thanks for the info, Texane.

I usually avoid advertisements on TV... but in this case I hope we'll see it in CR soon. :D

This has what my coworkers have said about the actress that has stooped to doing the VoiceStream commercials. :eek7: I can appreciate actors moving over and doing documenary and commercial voice overs (Ones where you only hear them. Remember all the ST:TNG actors doing them? :D Maybe only I notice this sort of thing...) but the track record for calling cards and numbers has jaded that market in the vewer's eye IMHO. You expect them to be wacky fools down here on US television.

don't worry about offending RDA, ads are SPOSED to be cheesy, that's how they sell things....

:eek4:

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard it is a rather good commercial, as commercials go. RDA is doing this commercial because part of the proceeds go to a childrens' charity. :p

I haven't seen it yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I think it's not presented in the East. Anyway, I'm hoping to say it soon. Cheesy or not:D

I don't care if it is cheezy
I want eo see it!!!!
After all it is RDA we
are talking about!!!!!!!
He is must see tv for me!!!!

I finally saw it ! It's not bad. He looks great as usual. It's on alot of stations now...USA, CNN, Comedy channel, FX, TNN, NBC etc. :D

Has anyone noticed (especially at the end of the commercial) that he is, basically, playing O'Neill? :laugh2:

And re: VoiceStream ads: I just love it when JLCurtis puts her head in the bucket and says, "hello little minutes!" (especially because it is true) :D

Re: voiceovers: have you ever watched the cartoon "Gargoyles"? Almost all of the actors/voiceovers are STNGers.

If ads r supposed to b cheesy; y r there no ads 4 cheese?

:flash:

There's a great cheese ad on right now where Santa leaves the little girl a car, motorcycle, puppies, toys, etc. Her dad says, "those must have been some cookies." She tells dad, "I didn't leave him cookies. I left him cheese." :D

yes , I know about the pictures but that just doesn't satisfy me... I want the REAL thing LIVE!!! Especially after seeing the pictures!!!

Me too!
But I'm afraid we won't see this commercial in CR. :(

Well. I don't understand. I should be able to see it. I'm in Canada and I get all the major American channels: NBC, CNN, CBS, ABC,FOX... Unless it's not presented in the eastern part...

RE: benefits charity. mmmm. got to love it.

RE:playing O'Neill. I got to see it too. Too bad my family watches a lot of DVDs and I can't always watch the satelight stations at their house. Anyway I might go balistic on Turkey day IF we do watch any of those stations long enough to see it. Maybe I'll hog the TV overnight and catch it then.

RE:Voice Stream. I haven't seen this. At work, I get the radio spots for VS. Sounds like JLC is playing Lilly Tomlin in some ways. I wouldn't mine LT doing VoiceStream. She made a show about the Universe (I think) on PBS some years back and was a blast. Sort of sounds like the longer JLC does that gig, the sillier she gets.

RE: Gargoyles. Very wierd to recall this one. It's like the TNGers couldn't leave each other's company... They also played darker characters, I think. Caught Watergate a couple of weeks back and just kept smirking with Mar. S. on there...

Patrick Stewart wrote a play that showed in London some years ago that included all or most of the primary STNGers.
