Remake or not?

STUDIOS USA and the FOX Network have shelved their BATTLESTAR GALACTICA remake following director Bryan Singer's backing out of the project.

Singer stepped down to concentrate on a sequel to the X-MEN
feature film.

I don't quite know if I'd want a Gallactica remake. One of the things that made it work for me was Richard...(I want to say Hatch..but isn't that the guy from Survivor??) and Dirk Benedict. If they could bring it back with them, it would be cool; but I think they may be too old for it to work now.

Plus, I really hated that second series they put out to follow up on the show...I can't recall the name, Galactica some number or other...to me, that one just stunk!!

the show you are thinking about is called Galactia '80. all i could find out about it is that it features all grown up boxy. who comes to earth in order to prepare for a Cylon invasion. That is it. I was at a convention and Dick and Herb madea few cracks about it.

NEW NEWS ABOUT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA UPDATE

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA UPDATE:

Universal is still supporting Tom Desanto's GALACTICA project. They are also slipping him additional funds here and there just to keep the project alive but as of now they are now writing a fourth script which isn’t too much different from the 2nd or 3rd draft script that was intended for FOX. However the production team in Visual Effects area minimum for obvious reasons. Never the less STUDIO USA wants the first 2-hour telemovie to go before the camera within the 2nd week of July of this year.

I really would like to see a revival for Galactica. It was a great series, I totally love it. One of my old favorites. I too will love to see Richard and Dirk in it, that will be so great. Neither of them have do much tv in a long time. So it really will be so cool to see them. But is they're not in it anyway I would love to see a new Galactica. As long as they pick good actors and stay true to the first.

This site is the 7th largest out of about 1000 bb's, not bad for a 23 year old show! The largest is Farscape.

Krystal this is "sort of inside stuff" we get @ SCIFI CHANNEL BB'S.

Returning characters thus far are:
Adama- recasted and will only appear on the first telemovie.
Athena-recasted will most likely be Jennifer Hetrick
Tigh- no word yet if Terry Carter will reprise.
Starbuck-Dirk Benedict
Boomer-Herb Jefferson
Troy (Boxey) most likely to be recast. UNIVERSAL will want an up and coming young stud to fill this role.
Tom Desanto [Krystal Tom is the Producer] will Not leave Richard Hatch out in the cold.

A New Character: the character below may be subject to change.

Damian- Rumor has it that it will be Michael Ironside from V, TOTAL RECALL and STARSHIPTROOPER He is going to be one of the main new Baltar-like villain and a bigger threat to the Colonials than Baltar ever was.
