oma desala = ancients?

hi, i've been reading forums for long time, and as yet nobody has made any connection to oma desala's race and either the ancients or the furlings.

shifu (the harcesis) is a HUMAN child (blood, bones etc is my point), yet oma TAUGHT him to vanish in white cloud etc - this is not normally physically possible, indicating that oma desala's race is FAR FAR advanced beyond anything we can imagine. surely the ancients or the furlings fit this description?!?!?!?

any thoughts?

I don't remember the epy name (as usual ), but it is the one where Sam meets another of OD's race. He said they had both been sanctioned/banned (or something) for inserting themselves into another race's history (yikes! violation of the Prime Directive). :alienooh:

I'm not sure, but I think he referred to the age of their race, and it did not seem to be old enough for them to be the ancients.

thanks for that, it must be upcoming episode you describe as i don't know it. i'm in sydney, australia, and we've only just started season 5 last week, so perhaps this is something i can look forward to (i don't mind the spoiler - well, it didn't actually spoil anything anyway)

Hi, guessed. Different forum, some of the same posters, eh?

In 5th race the Asgard imply that the Ancients "moved on" and there's always been a lot of speculation whether that meant moved in a physical sense or 'moved on' in the sense that they'd evolved beyond corporeal form. If so then Oma just well might be an Ancient. Between Oma, the monk, and the epi in Season 5 we know that her species can assume human form, and we saw Shifu take her form. So it would make sense.

And her appearance sounds like the word "Furling", so who knows. We might just find out someday.

shiloh, that's sorta what i've been thinking lately. but also, i guess they'll finish the series and just leave the furlings questions unanswered - always leave something open for the future
