How would the show play out if Janet and Sam had switched roles? Think each could carry out the other's job adequately and believably?

Now if you mean Amanda TApping and Teryl Rothery, I think this would work. If you mean 'Sam Carter' as an MD and 'Janet Fraiser' as a Ph.D. - I think the 'characters' 'feel' is too well developed for that. ie: I can't see someone with 'Sam character - actions, feelings, behaviors' being a good MD and the reverse.
 
I don't know. Sam looks as if she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to. And Janet looked pretty comfortable in the field when dealing with Osiris.
 
and janet almost scared me when she was "dealing with" nurrti..

but sam is quite good with medical science

think of her in legacy...

I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to the rule, just that it takes different personality types to do each job.

Hard science is a very 'straight line' thought process where medicine tends to be more of a 'parellel thinking' process.

Having walked both sides of the line [Medicine mostly, but a college degree in computer programming/systems analysis - that's straight line thinking and almost killed me] it can be an interesting process. I'm much better at medicine and diagnosis because I 'multi-think'. I go "A, B, C ... what about H?, D... F, E, G... Got it!"

I'd like to see Janet out in the field more. She does have a military background/training.
Wonder how she'd cope in the possitions SG1 often find themselves in?:cool:
 
i think she'd do quite well, after all, she did quite well in right of passage..

Yeah I think Iwould like to see her out and about a little more often...that would be cool ;)
