Anyone out there want to talk about the new WB show Smallville?

What do you think of the show and characters?

I'm surprised the characters are so well written from the first episode; usually it takes awhile to work the bugs out.

I didn't really know what to expect. The show's producers said, "no tights, no fights." It looks as if it is going to be a successful show.

The show is growing on me. But as picky as I am, why is the kryptonite changing people? Even in my old comic books of super boy that never happened.

Since I am being picky....Why hasn't Clark gone through is ship?

Don't get me wrong I like the show, but its been enough time for him to except his gifts and found out more about himself.

Is it the kryptonite or the meteorite shower that caused the changes? (or same thing?)

What IS in his ship?

The kryptonite....everytime a bad guy gets started the crystals from the kryptonite are shown:

The coach-steam baths kryptonite in the rocks
The insect boy-kryptonite in the cages of the spiders and bugs
The ice boy-kryptonite in the lake
The old man turned young-kryponite in the water again

see what i mean

In his ship if this show follows the comic book and the movies there should be info on who he is and where he came from.

The reason I wondered if it had anything to do with the original meteor shower is because that seems to be when some of the characters' lives changed/they started acting differently.

I wondered about the spaceship because, other than the one point where his father showed it to him, I don't remember them revealing that anything would be there . . . yet.

Hopefully soon Clark will go to the ship and inspect it, since the old lady who saw the future told him of his destiny to help people.

They (the writers) just can't leave him hanging for to long.

If I was just shown a spaceship and could do the things he could I would be all over that ship after a day or two of denial.

I missed the last epy; just saw the previews.

I wonder when Lex will start showing his true colors?

I liked the way they handled the epy when he began to get his x-ray vision.

Maybe I need to stop going back to the comic books, but it will be a while, in the books they were friends until Lex blamed Superboy for an accident and starting plotting against him. Then again he might all ready now since he is throwing suttle hints to Clark about his investigation into the accident when they first met.
The meteor shower made his hair fall out and his father disliked him even more so he might blame Clark for that and his true colors should come out soon. I'll check it out on the web-site.

Looks just like a power deal to me. Particularly when he found Lana's necklace when he rescued Clark.

Smallville is about Superman when he was a teenager, you know Superboy. It continues his teenage years where the movie only showed the short version (about 20 minutes).

Isn't it on the WB? It leans toward teenage angst shows, but actually has good characters and plot to go with it.

Lex is getting closer to the truth about Clark. Is he doing this because of greed or revenge? I just wish Clark would find out more about himself before Lex does.

Just how many mutations can this town have before its put into quarantine?

Clark is winning Lana's heart slowly. Of course this is going to take a while.

What are your opinions on the show?

I like the actress and script written for Lana.

The actress that plays Lana is beautiful, I think. But, the show's growing thin on me...I don't know. I've never been much of a Superman junkie though....I lean more toward Batman, myself
