Any Clancy fans out there? if so come talk to me!!! i used to have a coupla polls on here but i guess they were deleted! oh well:rolly2:

hey there

i love clancy's books though i've only read a few. i've got past and present danger which is SO good. he doesn't stuff around in his books does he. but they are confusing----sometimes i have to think ---who the hell is that character. where does he/she come in?

but i love them anyway. which ones have u read?

Tom Clancy is the man.

I like his older books that he wrote himself like red october, red storm rising, etc. The newer books that he has been backing (with other authors writing) arn't nearly as good. but I still read them because im a clancy fan!

I was quite obsessed with Clancy for quite a while in the 90s. I think my favourite book was probably Clear and Present Danger.

I loved that Ryan was such a normal person (notice I did not say 'regular') what I mean is that he seemed to be able to take all the insanity in his stride, admit his faults and just get on with it.

And John Clark - when they cast Willem Dafoe in this role in the movie of C&PD I thought they'd done a great job, and within months I was reading about Keanu Reeves taking on the Clark role for an adaptation of Without Remorse! I don't think I can imagine anyone less suited to the role!

And by the way Gater - your poll is here: http://www.ascifi.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8065

We did some Spring CLeaning a while back with a bit of a reshuffle on the forums, but we didn't delete much.
