British, male, late twenties. Armoury Officer. In the new age of humanity's enlightenment, Reed is a bit of a throwback. He's a 22nd century 'soldier', all spit and polish and by-the-book. He maintains a rigorous daily schedule; when he isn't on duty, he's working out on a futuristic exercise apparatus he keeps in his quarters, or toiling in the munitions lab, perfecting some new kind of torpedo.

He's the antithesis of our Chief Engineer, Charlie Tucker, who is undisciplined, a 'rebel' of sorts. The two men are frequently at odds. Reed is always trying to expand his weapons inventory, storing munitions in parts of the ship designated to Engineering. Tucker is constantly finding photon grenades cluttering his Jefferies Tubes. There just isn't enough deck space for both men.

Reed is filled with contradictions. Despite his near-obsession with regulations and munitions, he's also soft spoken, shy, and awkward around women.

British tactical security munitions officer. Malcolm is quite proper, rather shy with the ladies, brought up in a military English family, but is someone who loves to blow up things.

Sure is.... what else does a trekker need to know

Have you guys seen 'Silent Enemy'? It was a great ep. centered around Reed!

hey - was watching BTVS -- and Dominic was on one of the eps - he was a lackey-kind of guy - was turned into a vamp -- cool part for him -- bad episode tho ----

So what else has he been in?

He's from the Midlands, England, but I can't remember seeing him on British TV, he must have gone to Hollywood a while ago.

www.imdb.com says: (and i just played copy and paste here - i've only seen Enterprise and BTVS)

Dominic Keating - from Leicester, England, UK

Reed has 28 merit badges (two more than the captain) , and he's an Eagle Scout.

Dominic Keating:

"Malcolm's perspective on aliens is perhaps not as politically correct as the rest. He's the first one to drop to one knee and shoot the sucker! I quite like that about him; his natural instinct, whenever we go anywhere strange, is to bring the phase pistol out! Reed has a healthy dose of cynicism."

yes - he does like to take shots -- and blow things up -- even innocent little mountains on moon-like planets (don't ask me which ep - i don't remember - sorry) --
