Okay as i am a fairly new fan to stargate which i havent only gotten into recently in about the last 2 months, i have managed to purchase all of season 1&2 on DVD.

I got the Season 1 Box Set from canada and volumes 1-7 here in Australia which features some season 1 eps and the complete 22 eps from Season 2, All up both Seasons on dvd cost me close if not over $500 which is really expensive but i'd prefer to buy dvd over video because of all extra features dvd movies have etc and they last pretty much a life time if you treat them well and don't get chewed by video players :p

i just visited this Uk web site , i think it was there was a link on the main page of this forum site.. anyway they have all of season 3 & 4 .... ! and i was like thats so unfair because it puts autralia at a disadvantage because we only have season 2 on dvd here and 20th centry fox have said they won't realease the season 1 box set so the only way you can get it is if you have a multi reigon dvd player and willing to order it in from over seas like i did

do you think it's worth my while or anybody elses to order these from over seas or wait like a whole year to catch up on all the stargate eps because you can never tell when channel 7 will play certain eps and certain times

lemme know what you think...

s3 is starting to be released on dvd in uhmm... february with volumes 8 + 9.

personally i'd wait, because of the australian dollar but then again i have all the eps taped and bought on video :)

Yeah i checked out www.ezydvd.com.au and volumes 8 & 9 are out on feb 13 i think, but yeah your right i am gonna wait a bit till maybe at least the whole season 3 is out but it looks like it's heading the way the Uk is at the moment as they have all season 2,3&4 in volumes 1-19 or somthing exactley the same as us :)

But i got the Season 1 Box set so NER NER :p
:rolly2:

the aussie DVD's are exact copies of the UK DVD's, except the region coding.

im getting a PS2 and they can have multi region coding for DVD's so im eventually gonna get the S1 boxset :D :D

Yeah your right, they are exact copys :)

Good move with the PS2 and yes i think they are multi region you won't regret buying the season 1 box set it's pretty kewl as i have it :)

Yeah I remember you deleting one of her posts because she pointed out a mistake in one of yours :D

I can't believe how daft MGM are being with the releases of SG1 on DVD.

I've got season 2 onwards but not Season 1. Bought it on video but now sold because hopefully going to get it on Region 1. We've managed to change our DVD player to multi-region so we can play both. Its an outrage really but what can you do.

annette :D

It's Not Mgm's fault , you can blame 20th Centry Fox for that , if your interestred annette i can get the season 1 box set for you for around $225 , drop me a line if you interested

Hi, I have found a website which sells Region 1 DVD's. Season 1 boxset costs £49.99 which is pretty good and also no shipping charges. Thanks anyway.

No problem Hammond. Just thought I'd put my awe in.

Actually you guys are very lucky having access to buy seasons 2,3&4. Us Aussies only have all of season 2 here and we don't start getting season 3 till febuary next year which i can't wait to get because i've finished watching all of my season 1 & 2 dvd's

I'm glad in a way that we do get some things before you and the US BUT would love your warm weather as I hate the cold.

annette :D

perhaps i can pop through the stargate and get that weather control device eh ? :)

That'd be brilliant. We could do with the temperature being turned up a bit. Its tooooooooooo cold here at the moment. Been down to -5 degrees over the weekend.

Have watched some of the DVD extras and they are brilliant, includes interviews with the stars.

annette :)

Yeah the extra's are great thats whats so good about buying dvd's now over VHS
