[This thread is an off-topic thread. I have moved it from Season Six where it started.]

Since I'm the moderator and I'm in a mood to wish everyone a joyous holiday season, I've set up this thread to do that.

If anyone else wishes to join in and post a message of holiday cheer, put 'em here.

Aaawww thats so nice.....:D

Happy holidays everyone....hope you all have a great time with whatever your doing!

(Okay, this is a self-indulgence, but since we are kind of a community, I felt it appropriate to have a thread to share special holiday greetings.)

I was just in a mood to wish everyone around the world a Happy 4th of July, American Independence Day.

A special wish for good things goes out to our UK neighbors - we couldn't have done it without you.

I'm not one for getting all choked up about current events but one quote does come to mind that seems timely. It's from one of my favorite songs. One that was written in my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

"And the rocket's red glare, the bomb's bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there."

what a lovely sentinment!

and I am returning the greetings and well-wishings to you --

and sending out my own ----

Happy Independence Day to all in the US --

(obcooke - we missed Canada Day -- it was Monday I think - so, belated wishes to our Canadian friends!)

Happy Thanksgiving.

For those of you who may not know, in the US, we feast in celebration today.

The legend goes that the first settlers, the Pilgrims, shared a feast with the Indians. Considering how later settlers treated the Indians that seems sad and tragically ironic.

There's also the idea that we celebrate our forefathers coming to America and the bounty that they enjoyed as they sought religious freedom. But then, there's the fact that the ancestors of millions of Americans came to this country, not by choice, but in chains.

Boy, it sure gets hard to celebrate an old holiday when history gets in the way.

SO we agree to celebrate the good things that we have. We gather families and friends together to literally give thanks for our joy. We concentrate on what we have and don't dwell on what we don't.

So Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

Yes --- Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US --- (and I think Canada - don't they do Thanksgiving today too?)

And as a holiday treat - FX is funning a Buffy-thon - 14 hours of Buffy -- eps chosen by the fans --

This morning they ran "Pangs" and "Amends" (thnxgvng and x-mas - "Amends" is the one where it snows on sappy Angel, right? :D [I like "Pangs" better, if anyone was wondering - Spike looking all like St. Sebastian w/ all those arrows])

And S6 begins on FX -- can't *wait* to see what they cut <insert heavy sarcasm here>

[Highlander II: And as a holiday treat - FX is funning a Buffy-thon...]

Erg! Arrgh! And me without cable.

Oh well, as I said, I'm going to be hosting my own Buffy viewing in a few hours for a friend I'm sharing Thanksgiving dinner with.

[Highlander II: "Amends" is the one where it snows on sappy Angel, right?]

That's the one. That's a good one. I like the bad guy in that one, what's his name?... Oh yeah, The First. They should bring him back.

JENNY/THE FIRST: Hmm. You think you can fight me? I'm not a demon, little girl. I am something that you can't even conceive. The First Evil. Beyond sin, beyond death. I am the thing the darkness fears. You'll never see me, but I am everywhere. Every being, every thought, every drop of hate.

BUFFY: Alright, I get it. You're evil. Do we have to chat about it all day?

JENNY/THE FIRST: Angel will be dead by sunrise. Your Christmas... will be his wake.

BUFFY: No.

JENNY/THE FIRST: You have no idea what you're dealing with.

BUFFY: Lemme guess. Is it....... evil?

[Highlander II: S6 begins on FX -- can't *wait* to see what they cut]

Remember, Thanksgiving - be thankful for what we have, not what's missing.

Very true - be thankful that we have BtVS and AtS and family and friends, and this board and such --

btw- Canada does Thanksgiving in October --- so - kinda late Happy Thnxgvng to them!!
