It's not a long shot Sue, I am sure there must be folks here in the UK who video the show and would be more than willing to help you out! I certainly would, but I lent my video to my son, so I am not taping the episodes at present.

please let me know if you find anyone. i've been asking around for a month and have yet to find a volunteer. most folks are willing but their equipment isn't able...they can play ntsc but not record it

Hi Guys
Excuse my ignorance but what is ntsc?

I have taped all the epi's off Sky One (UK) onto VHS video tape (we're up to The Summit as of today, January 1st) but would need to investigate the possibilty of copying them. Is VHS an viable option in the US? Or is that a dumb idea? Also, I've heard mention of people downloading episodes off the net, never seen it meself though (my computer being older than Master Bratac)

Lemme know and I'll try and help

It's not so much the recording thats a problem as the playback.
US tv's have less lines on them and its called NTSC ours have more lines and we use PAL. Now PAl tv's can show NTSC (usually, some manufacturers stop it from being possible) but no way US tv's can show PAL. It's just a different decoding system for the pictures. Unfortunately this means that an ep recorded on a normal UK vcr would not work in the States. I dont think they make a vcr that can record in both and I still dont think that would work as the show is broadcast in PAL so couldnt be recorded on to NTSC.
Small possibilty maybe somone has the ability to record from tape onto cd or dvd? OR has the eps downloaded and could write them onto a cd for you. That would work, unfortunately I dont have a burner so i'm not much help. Hope you manage to get them from somewhere.
