Dir commentary on DVD's

I've been watching some of the eps with the audio commentary on a couple of recent Region 2 DVD's of season 4. Has anyone else seen them - if you haven't you should give them a look. The ones with Peter DeLuise and James Titchenor are bril - really funny, Peter DeLuise is a funny guy anyway, but the two of them together - it really works.

Beneath the Surface for me has the best commentary - Peter DeLuise just kind of starts mimicking what he thinks the characters should be saying i.e. in this ep Daniel is not wearing his glasses - no explanation as to why so according to Peter D he is wandering around going 'why is everything so fuzzy, I can't see, I can't see' and T-man is like, 'why do I have a mercedes emblem on my head and why do I have a kangaroo pouch, am I a marsupial ' - its good stuff

Also, Window of Opportunity, now this is a great comic show anyway and the commentary just adds to it.

I've never really be into watching feature films with the audio commentary cos it just kind of gets in the way, but if it is on a ep that you know really well anyway, and the guys doing the talking are as entertaining as this its worth having a go.

I was exactly the same and you get to learn so much extra info from the commentary I found myself going "Ahh, that's why they did that" and "Ahh, I wonder why he/she said that".

A great way to learn about the "behind the scenes" stuff as well as what we watch and hear from the show itself.

I've never thought to listen to the commentary ones. I may do that now I've read this thread.

i haven't bought any stargate dvds for ages, i might go and buy one now!!

they're not in the second season ones, are they?!!?

I've just checked my 2nd season ones and there isn't any special features on them from what I can see.

Yeah i know what you mean , Australia has the Exact same copy's of season 2 stargate dvd's and theres no extra's , you will have to wait till season 3 to get any extra stuff

I was actually concidering getting some episodes of stargate for my new dvd. If you get special features like directors commentry and it's pretty good, I think I might just do it!

I already have season 1 on vid, but when I (hopefully) get lots of money I'll upgrade to dvd!

Just thought I'd let you know I have Season 1 on DVD. Bought it thru the web. Tis Region 1 and cost £50.

Ok good news , I ordered Stargate the Movie (Special Edition) from Amazon.com about 2 weeks ago i was happy to get it in the mail yesterday Finally , this dvd movie is definetley worth getting if you do decide to get it make sure you get the Directors cut version or special edition (Same thing) as it as both the normal version of the movie and the special edition with about 7 extra minutes of added never before seen footage and it also has directors commentry also on it and 1 or 2 other things...

Hope this help for all you dvd Buyers like me

Have you listened to the commentary on the special edition yet? Those two have got to be the dullest men in the world! Maybe i have just been spoiled by the great season four commentaries, but when Devlin and Emmerich (think thats who it was anyway) were going on about how they had nothing whatsoever to do with the series, all I could think was, "these are the jokers that brought the world the crapfest that was "Godzilla", shut the h*ll up!".
