"Lexa Doig will be joining us at WOLF SG-4. This will make our guest line up for SG-4 as Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping & Lexa Doig."

LOL LOL LOL ROTFLMAO.........

Now I wonder why she's coming.... I thought it was a Stargate convention not Andromeda......

LOL LOL As if we all didn't know.

God help me..... if I wasn't going there to meet the important folk....... Annette, Skip, Mishkaz, Pamie, Summershake etc etc..... I would certainly sell my ticket back. I have absolutely no desire to sit there an listen to someone whose only contribution to the acting profession is that her lips are so full of collagen and lip gloss, she can hardly speak..... I won't even mention the total lack of acting ability. I remember her being on the New Professionals on UK TV along with Edward Woodward and think, wtf is this creature doing there. But she was there as a sop to the male eye candy. All I can think is that if she's what the male sex really like, they need reprogramming.

Definitely a guest Q & A session to miss! I think I might go and do something really important, like go for a cup of tea!

;)

Totally agree with you all the way there Anni...I thought she would come but not as a guest!! Like she has never been in Stargate!! ;)

Oh well whatever wolf want..I don't care!

I will be having tea with Anni when she is on the stage!!! :p :D

.......<tiny voice in the corner>.... I like Lexa Doig. I like tea, too! The two likes are not mutually exclusive! And while she does represent some eye-candy for the male viewers, she can actually act..... and way better than Vanessa Angel in her stint as Anise/Freya.

Just my humble opinion.

I was actually wondering if she would be at Wolf SG4 because she is reported/rumoured as MS' latest squeeze. And LD is currently also on hiatus from the filming of Andromeda.

Xst - you are perfectly entitled to like LD if you wish. I just personally don't think she can act....and my opinion has nothing to do with her and MS, 'cos I don't really think he can act all that well either. Again, that's just my personal opinion. As actors neither of them push any buttons for me. As people? I don't know them, am never likely to and my life won't any the less precious to me for not knowing them.

Maybe it's because we in the UK had a premier viewing of LD in The New Professionals which was a recent revamp, and continuation of the old UK series The Professionals with Bodie and Doyle which was a very dated but entertaining story of a British Intelligence agency called CI5 responsible for internal security in the UK. The new version had Edward Woodward and another two young men, one English, one American in the Bodie and Doyle roles, but for some reason, the producers of the recent show decided that two guys on their own weren't enough, so they added Miss Doig to the mix and she was as unmemorable in that role as she is in Andromeda.

I wouldn't mind her attending if she was there for any other reason than as you stated.... she is MS' latest squeeze' and is obviously short of a thing or two to occupy her. It is so apparent that this is the ONLY reason she is appearing and not because she genuinely wants to meet Stargate fans and that's what I don't particularly agree with.

I would have had more respect for her decision to accompany him if she had done so just as his 'travelling companion' which is how Wolf described the young lady who came with Alexis Cruz and the very quiet unassuming man who came with the woman who plays Lya at SG3.

I don't and can't just like people because they are in some way connected with Stargate, however spuriously. I wasn't terrifically impressed with the fact that they had Virginia Hey at Gatecon, but at least she has something to recommend her, her acting talent is apparent. Even if it was buried knee deep in those ridiculous hair extensions!

You and I can still have that cup of tea! I will just have another couple or three while Miss Doig manages to hoist her lips onto the stage. Let's hope she has something fascinating to entertain you all with!

Soooooo Lexa isn't your fave choice for another guest..? :D i must admit i agree that if she had been his "travelling companion" it would have been more respectable.

But.....you never know, she may let slip some gossip about MS since they are an item..

I totally agree with you Anni. I too don't think much of LD but as you say the only reason she's coming is for something to do, and the fact she just happens to be going out with MS.

I might be joining you for that cup of tea. :D

Oh Im sorry to all LD fans but that has to be the funniest thing I have read all day......:D

Well, I hope the hotel has lots of tea! Save me a cup for after the Q&A session.

I happen to be an Andromeda fan, too, so I'm looking forward to see what LD has to say. And I wasn't aware that the UK TV had history with her in a previous series.

I'm going to the sessions with an open mind. For me, having another "guest" without having to pay more fees for the con is a plus; and having an Andromeda actor as a guest is also a plus.

As for Virginia Hay at Gatecon 2001, her appearance made me curious about Farscape, a program that I didn't watch before. But now I am catching more of the old shows and getting into it and its' own brand of humour. And the con attendees who were also Farscape fans had a blast meeting Virginia Hay. And Ms Hay was exceedingly gracious when signing autographs or posing for pictures with her fans. But Stargate SG-1 remains my #1 fav show for many, many reasons.

See you all at Wolf SG4!

Oh Virginia was okay.... a nice enough lady I guess. I have nothing against her and she's a good actress, but those bloody hair extensions! I thought she was going to suffocate everyone as she passed by.

One thing we have plenty of in the UK is tea Xst! We won't run out and if the hotel does, I promise I will bring you home and make you one here!

I'm not an Andromeda fan, I have tried and tried to get through even one episode, but each time I fall asleep or lose interest and go and do something interesting, like wash the dishes. It's one of the most tedious shows I have ever seen.

I dunno... maybe it's because every time I see Kevin Sorbo I keep thinking Hercules and I expect Iolaus to pop up from behind a console yelling "Hi Herc!"

And I can't honestly see why they have Rommie in there in the first place. And I might be totally confuzzled, but why are there sometimes two of her? I mean isn't one of her enough? It's just as well they never seem to share the shot, 'cos there'd only be room for one set of lips in the screen. In fact the only thing about the show that has held me in morbid fascination was watching LD trying to enunciate through the lip gloss. I found myself mouthing the words and almost willing her to be able to pronounce them clearly! I was so busy being fascinated that I lost the entire storyline. But then I realised that there wasn't one! I gave up after that.

  :D

Hi Anni,

Hmmmm.... a different take here. Although I liked watching Hercules I didn't watch it consistently so I'm not automatically associating Dylan Hunt with Sorbo with Herc! i.e. I'm not getting flashbacks! And, yes, some of the plots are dorky and has mumbo-jumbo, but I like the spirit of the show.... I guess I'm into the "Gene Roddenberry" spirit.... save the galaxy and share it with all who crawl, fly and swim! So shoot me, I'm an optimist! :D

And there are two or more Rommies in certain scenes because she is talking to different aspects of herself and there is more than one embodiment of her. She is the "ship" i.e. "operations" and acts very "warship-y" when she shows up on the monitors. She appears in "holographic form" as the conscience of the ship, i.e. she asks a lot of questions and is a sort of liason between the warship and the avatar. And she is an android/avatar in the solid body form that Harper made that has the "tactile sensations and sentient emotions" of the three-part persona and is able to physically interact with the crew or to perform physical duties on the ship. This is just my take on the three aspects of Rommie.

And I don't watch her lips.

LOL...... it's okay Xst I don't have a yen for LD's lips. I only noticed them because of her difficulty in opening them to actually talk. And you know how it is.... I wasn't interested in the show, so my attention was grabbed by something really ridiculous instead of the rivetting storyline and acting. Hence LD's lips.

I'm sure she's a nice little girl really. And thanks for explaining the Rommie thing. I was truly confused! That'll teach me to fixate on one thing and ignore the storyline.

Oops! What storyline?

:D :D

I don't watch Andromeda, but her name sounds kinda weird. It's probably french and pronounced dwoyg or something like that, but I can't help but call her Lexa Dog.

Lexa Doig is a typical Canadian. She has mixed ethnic ancestry. I believe she is of Scottish and Phillippino background; and I think the "Doig" may be the Scottish part. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

I'm Scottish and her name sure as hell don't sound Scottish. if she were scottish then a name like, Taggart or Mcgregor or MacDonald or picken, but Doig? FCUK. French Connection UK methinks. it sounds more french to me. maybe someone can ask her about the origins of her name on Wolf SG-4.
