Okay, what's the take on the new syndicated teasers? I'm talking about the preview of the next show stuck in the credits at the end of the show.

Maybe I'm just a stick in the mud, but I can't stand them! I tried to let them win me over and see them a few weeks. They don't give you any idea what's up the next week. They're not exciting. I think they're just sad. What have the others in syndicated-land have to say?

I have to dissagree. I absolutely love them!! They are far more interesting than before. And actually they work, because i was watching an episode and at the end the comercial apeared, a friend (who didn't watch Stargate ) saw it and got interested.

I'm a little confused by your statement. The teasers are the same ones that were shown on Showtime. The only difference I see is that they are using a "rock" type music and colorizing the scenes to be more dramatic. I'm not keen on always seeing "starring Richard Dean Anderson" at the end of each teaser. Otherwise, I don't really see where the teasers are any different from before.

Okay, I think I know what you mean, we sometimes get them here in Australia. Is it like, when the credits are on, and they go to split screen or something, and show an 'ad' for another show?
If it is that, I hate them with a passion! We had them here for this **** show called 'The Secret Life of Us', and they had the SAME preview after alsmost every show on channel 10! It sucked, especially if you wanted to find out who somebody was or something like that, coz ya couldnt even read any of the credits!

Well, thats if we are talking about the same thing......:erm:

Sorry, I'm not freaking out on the split screening. That's been in the states forever. One station is trying a horizontal split top and bottom so that the readability of the text is not changed, but that's weird to me too. But at least you can read it. I'm figuring that with that split screen thing they think you don't care to know who the effects company was :D

Welll, on the syndicated ones we used to have just the old Showtime ones with the theme. Then they've got these new ones this year. They might just be aiming for a new demographic with 90's/2000 rock. I sort of like Creed and Coldplay and the like... Surely there's a new demographic on a free station like Scifi vs. Showtime.

And as for colorizing? Bleck. Green-ish?

It's not a huge deal about what the teaser looks like. When the teaser for the show looks a whole lot worse than all the super, fantasting things I've seen in the show put on the screen the past four years, I start wondering what's going on. It's the old trickle-down thing: these may have been on Showtime the whole last year, but I don't watch Showtime. I'm just not thrilled with these new ones. They don't show the quality and feel of SG-1.

As for The RDA Hour, aka. Stargate SG-1, :D what are you going to do? He produces and stars. That sort of arrangement goes back to the turn of the century in theatre. :D:D Support StarTrek Enterprise if you want true large ensemble acting.

*cyn falls off her soapbox* Thud!*

We don't have too many teasers for SG-1 in the Uk, might get some when season 6 is about to start.

I think it sounds cool :D

You guys have split screens? In the station i see it (It isn't fox) the comercials are in between the end of the show (there are commercials then) and the credits are in full screen and can be seen at any time just like the other commercials. One of the reasons i like them a lot is that i got sick of the others. They needed a serious change.

Oh, and the teasers are not the same that showtime has. Showtime's teasers don't last very long and sometimes you're not able to really know what they are about.Could it be we have different teasers?

I guess I'm being out voted. I agree that it's harder to tell what an episode is about.

I suppose there could be different kinds.

And there's always been a tag line in the teasers saying "RDA" as far as I can tell. I think it used to happen at the top of the teaser. I guess the change in wording is just as attention-grabbing as the new format of the teasers.

channel seven in australia are really good for promoting stargate (when the b******s decide to show it ;) )
but on some occasions the do intend to spoil the entire episode in 30 seconds. they spoiled "The Curse" really bad

You're in my situation with our local FOX station and sports changing the schedule. And what can you say about the Curse that don't spoil it? It was a Nancy Drew Mysteries rip.

I'm in Canada and I get three variations of the "teasers". The Canadian station plays a teaser at the beginning of the show and then plays a teaser at the end of the show giving some details of the next week's show. The UPN station (I get because I live at the border) plays a different teaser with different clips and different voice-over and all to "rock 'n roll" with flashing colour all over the screen. Then the Showtime vids I get from a friend from the US shows the teaser with different clips and voice-over in a horizontal split screen.

I like the teasers! They get me excited about the upcoming episode.

I'm in Uk too so we dont get them after the show but they have them on the dvd's and they look cool. I like to know whats coming next week. Annoying thing we get is that on sky one (the channel stargate is on) as soon as the credits start they show a teaser of whatever programme is on next! That really annoys me, lol.

Are these teasers the ones that end with the earth seven symbol moving into place to spell out Stargate over a kind of event horizon? And do they also use the Stargate main theme?

Ya we get several. I've seen the ones from Showtime only because they were attached to the eps I got off the net. Those ones suck big time. The UPN ones are a little better, but hte one's we get on Check 6...they changed their name recently, is really good. Before the show starts they give a little blerb on what's coming up & at the end they have a 'next time on' bit that's longer than what Showtime gives. I like em.

oh & I don't know what the rock 'n role part's about. We don't get that

this is what channel seven (in aus) usually has at the end of their promos.
they dont use the stargate music anymore. the pick their own selections.

I'm glad we get the SG music still & a great teaser...
