This guy is an amazing actor. He's got the best voice.
He used to do voice overs for some of the television stations in Australia years ago.

I just love the way he and Ben Browder portray the scenes that Crais and Crichton have together.

yeh his scenes with ben are one of the high points! i mean they dont excaty like each other but have to get on!

I never realised he was the voice of pilot. That's amazing I'd never have known if I hadn't seen it in the credits.

Actually, Lani does all of Crais' lines (in ADR) first, then he does Pilots'. And it's all his own voice... no special effects there. Crais' voice is just a bit deeper than Lani's actual voice, but he really works it to get Pilot's voice all high-pitched and soft, so it starts to bother his throat after a while. He even has to scream differently for each character.

And, I agree, his work on Pilot's voice is amazing. I can just imagine all the cool voices he's capable of doing.

At the con last year, Lani took the audience through a voice warm-up and a scream practice. He had one side of the room at a time do what he did, beginning with the warm-up, then going through the motivation for the scream, then the scream itself. It was a real hoot. See the pic below for an image of that. This one was the "IP1,Talyn's been blinded" scream.

For him to do the voice of Pilot, that is totally so different from Crais voice, it definitely show how much talent this guy have.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, girls, but it's all Lani's voice. Heard him use it myself in Burbank.

Apparently, Claudia can speak Sebacean, too. Sounds like a soundtrack played backwards, but it's all her. She did an example in NY.

That's also where everyone learned Ben's middle name is Ben. He lives in my world... the world where everyone knows your middle name, but doesn't believe you when you tell them your middle name. When they finally get it, they ask, not for your first name, but for your "real" name. :angryfire Used to bug the emma out of me!

But, back on topic, Lani's voice work is all his. And he said he plans on doing Pilot's voice until the show's (or Pilot) dies.
