New episodes?

Does anyone actually know when we will be getting new episodes in the U.S.? I thought we always got stuff first. What happened?

showtime in its infinite wisdom (read sarcasm here) decided to hold back the new eps of stargate until march 8 so they can use them to promote a new show of thiers 'jerimiah' which is a post-apocalyptic show penned by JMS (the guy that did babylon 5)

as of right now we will not get proving ground until march 8 which puts revelations (the fianle) until may 10 i belive. it also does not give showtime ample time to re-run them unless they double up episodes...so better hope your vcr gets it right the first time

so these fanfics that are starting to pop up about summitt, meridian, etc. are from england - which has already broadcast episodes on sky one - correct ?

i already got burned on one fanfic that didn't have a spoiler on it for meridian. very frustrating.

i think i am going to have to stay off the fanfic sites for a while.
i have been avoiding fanfic.net for weeks because i started noticing that some summaries alone were giving out episode info. people need to be aware when they post season 5 stories that UK is weeks ahead of US.

showtime is being very disrespecful by waiting to show the episodes.

Question - has anyone out there in the US been sent a copy of new episodes from friends in UK ?

There was an interesting poll, not related to anyone or any station specifically (Sky, did you refer us there in another thread?), which noted that many fans believe that Showtime deliberately held off showing the last epys of season 5 because they were concerned about losing viewers/consumers. The cite "pollster" asked the cite viewers to vote whether they would keep or lose Showtime after the Stargate jump to the SciFi Channel. The questions were along the line of:

Keep Showtime because my significant other is making me

Cancel Showtime

Doesn't matter


"Cancel Showtime" was at 76% when I voted.

And doesn't "Jeremiah" have that 90210 kid on it? I am just POSITIVE that (clearly silly) show will have the same type of audience as Stargate . . . (what bull )!

I heard that Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Son, Theo) was going to be in it. Showtime also said that they held off Stargate so they could link with it to promote "jeremiah".... yasureyoubetcha!

Stargate was delayed because of jerimiah, jerimiah was delayed because of 9-11. So guess who we have to thank.

Thanks for the info everyone! I'll have my VCR and TIVO ready to record by March 8th. And, yes, I too got burned by a spoiler. Oh well, what are you gonna do?
