the new guy and meridian

Hello,
i haven't seen Meridian (although i know what's the episode about) and i'm really curious about the new guy.I don't want big spoilers but could anyone tell me how is the new guy? and how was the episode?

the episode was very good in my opinion. decisions are made, choices are made...choices folks have to live with. there are some lovely scenes and symbollic moments. it's a fitting send off...and if you used to watch trek...waaaayyyyy better than tasha yar and the vat o sludge <G>

as to TNG...we see a bit of him, not a lot...i really have to reserve final judgement until i get to know him...he does make a ballsy decision...and a not so ballsy one.

one thing i can say for certain...he's gonna be something different for season 6

(and he is sorta cute too)
