R2 DVD - all 100 episodes shown - what order?

Okay, I have just watched the extras on Region2 DVD 19, which has a piece about the 100th episode, finishing in a subliminal speed (aka 3 video-frames each) fly-by of the first 100 episodes.

But, they are NOT in order. After some careful viewing, and finally frame by frame advance (benefit of it being DVD), I have assembled the following list of episodes, in the order they appear in the feature:

Any idea why they screwed up (season 3 and 4 in particular) so badly?

arrrgghhh i am waiting for that dvd to arrive, seems like its never going to get here.

One thought - your post doesn't mention that they were SUPPOSED to be in order. That would be a good reason ...

Alternatively, if they were supposed to be in order, then I dunno, but I am leaning towards the idea that the people that make the show rarely watch it... Production order is often different from screening order, also.

Well, even if you get through 100 episodes, including the episode number, in about 18 seconds, you see enough to think "Hang on - that looks wrong!".

So, frame by frame one afternoon, then two days later after refreshing my memory over a few more episodes. Some are VERY subtle to try to decipher! After all, out of 42 minutes of footage they have used only 2-3 frames. And that can be hard to spot, since they haven't in many cases used what could be considered obvious footage.

But, as per the first paragraph, even at VERY high speed it is clear with things such as "Crystal Skull" appearing right at the start of season 3, and even "obvious" pairings such as "Jolinars Memories"/"Devil You Know" and "Nemesis"/"Small Victories" being split apart.

As for order: yes, it is largely assumed they are supposed to have started in order: so many of the first and even second series are. MOST of the series start/end episodes are correct, with decreasing numbers of the intervening ones. As you suggest, however, it may all be to do with production order...

I now have stills for each episode available and uploadable to a Reetou website, if anyone is interested??

They WERE at 768x576, but that was 5.5Mb and I only have 20Mb (including all my other stuff!), so I pulled them back down to 400x300, which still gives the idea....
