Deanna Troy's role in Skin of Evil was not so different to her role in any other episode.
Basically she tells Picard what she thinks the alien is thinking. This time rather than being sat comfortably in an armchair o the Bridge of the Enterprise, she is sitting comfortably in a pranged shuttle.
