02.01.02 :: PULLING THE PLUG?
Since we launched in September of 2000 we have welcomed over 1.25 million people to DarkAngelTV.com. The site has grown to encompass over 1.5 GB in media and files, and a 200 MB forum containing almost 217,000 posts (with an average of 500 new posts a day).
5,000+ unique visitors come to the site daily, producing 10 GB of traffic every day, with over 1.5 million page views per month.
Despite the fact that we are often mistaken for bigwigs with a huge staff, DarkAngelTV.com is in fact run by two lone individuals, who (like everyone else) are struggling to make ends meet. Ad revenues that once helped to support the site have dried up due to current web conditions, and the job market isn't what it used to be.
Donations graciously given over the past few months were banked towards January's hosting bill... but those funds are now tapped. We no longer have the revenue to support this site.
Our host feels our pain, and they have already drastically cut rates for the site. With the end drawing near, they have gone one huge step further by offering us an incredibly low, static fee that will ensure DarkAngelTV.com's existence for another full year (barring acts of god or FOX). We need everyone's help to do this:
We need to raise $4,100
to cover hosting for a year.
It's a big number, we know. Look at it this way: if all of the visitors in a single day contribute only $1 each, we will have covered our hosting costs for the whole year. Please give.

Some may wonder why we're not simply trying to raise funds on a month-by-month basis. The answer is simple: the reduced-rate agreement doesn't allow for monthly payment. It's all or nothing.
If we fall short of our goal, every penny donated will be put towards hosting the site for as many months as we can afford with the money we have. At that point DarkAngelTV.com will cease to exist.
It is with heavy hearts that we make this request. Both of us are proud of DarkAngelTV.com; we worked hard to make it the ultimate fansite. We hope that this is not the end.
