Anyone notice that except for a few exceptions, there are very few committed relationships among Immortals?
 
Well, I don't know about you but I'd be very careful when deciding to spend the rest of eternity with someone.
 
Well I think it has something to do with the game. I don't think I'd want to be with someone who I might have to kill someday. That whole There Can Be Only One thing really sucks.
 
good points...I mean really...say forever with a human and your looking at 60 years maybe...say forever with an immortal...*shakes her head* gotta get old after a while no matter how much they might be in love

And I agree with you guys. It makes sense, it's just kinda sad.

yeah - Methos said that he had never considered making *that* kind of commitment (marrying an immie - ep "Til Death") --

consider Methos - he's 5000+ years old - if he had met an immie he wanted to marry at, say, 1000 - that's 4000 years he would have been with the same person - that's a heck of a long time to be with someone -

now - while having an immie for a spouse would be less worrisome b/c you could be reasonably sure that s/he could take care of him/herself ---

but there's still the worry of him/her getting killed ---

kind of a lose-lose / win-win depending on how you look at it -
 
and at least they wouldn't die on you like a mortal would..at least not unless they got beheaded....but you would have to go through all the grief all the time with mortals when they die

but - seeing that so many ppl have a hard time keeping a 20 yr relationship going, imagine having to spent 2000 yrs with someone -

oh - and since now is the time of the Gathering - there's an even better chance that one's spouse would lose his/her head -

yeah - this is one heck of a gathering -- going on since like 1985?

just exactly how many immortals are there? there can't be that many left, can there??

*sarcasm* yes but he's the "star" of course he knows and can beat anyone he comes up against no matter how much older and more experienced they mightbe
 
so - are we in a committed relationship to believing that the PTB were kinda stupid in thinking that we'd buy all of the stuff they threw at us??
