Has any one read the above book,

i'm a hugh Gemmel fan, but am not so sure about his last one so if any one has read it please let me now what you think.

P.S totally useless fact about me,

In Gemmels first book legend there is a charter called Druss, big guy carrys an axe.

i helped Simon at Raven Armoury make the prototype for the axe that now hangs in Gemmels front room.

I love the book.... but asides from this thread, have you got any pics of Snaga?? I would be very interested in seeing it.

Re: swords of night and day (david gemmel)

Moving this to the Gemmel forum.

I must say that I have not read him yet - however I've been sufficiently intrigued by other posters here that one of his books is on my list of things to buy this month.

Lacedaemonian, any further thoughts on this particular book?

Re: swords of night and day (david gemmel)

As to pictures of snaga, sorry no never crossed my mind when working on it, but if you want a good idea what it looks like i think it Druss the legend that has a picture of druss hold the axe.

Re: swords of night and day (david gemmel)

Could you tell us more about the project of deisgning the axe? It certainly sounds interesting. Was it entirely based on the book, did you also interview Gemmel, perhaps do some weaponry research, and so on?

Re: swords of night and day (david gemmel)

you might be giving me alittle to much credit there. Simon is the real armourer. All i really did was polish and work on the haft and pass him a lot of things, not to mention make the coffee.

As to speaking to any one i know that simon and david are old friends.

Re: swords of night and day (david gemmel)

I wouldn't mind having a working copy of Snaga hanging above my fireplace...lol.

Hmm, I'd cut off my left hand for that axe, no wait, i probably would cut off my left hand if i tried to swing that baby

Back to the question. i read Swords of night and day and i loved the book.

I throughly enjoyed the swords of night and day, I think more so than White Wolf. Skilgannon's such a great character, as was the villaness of the piece Jianna.

snaga looks great excellent work, the swords of night and day is a good read aswell
