Hello All,
I realise that this isn't Ausgate related and apologise if it offends anyone.

But is anyone else having problems with accessing the SGC site, that is owned by Ryan?

The address for it is http://sho.com/stargate As this is a Showtime site and can only be viewed by people within the US, i was wondering if anyone else is having problems with accessing the site who are outside the US?

If so its bites to not be able to access it for that reason

I beleive Ryan may be doing some site maintenance today.

Yeah i agree it would be, but up until you just mentioned i didn't know there was one. As this is the only forum i knew of, at the time, i posted here as many people go to both sites.

You're right this probably is best posted in the SGC Forum but as the question was posted here I thought I'd respond here ;)

Full access to the SGC can be achieved by using a proxy address in
your browser set up (providing your chosen proxy address supports
flash etc)

For full instructions on how to do this my good friend Scooby has
done a web page giving full details on how to do this (with screan
captures so little or no T'ing required)

If you are unable to alter the browser in this manner (due to using
library, School or work puter's for eg) access to the site can be
gained using a proxy site such as the following

http://www.megaproxy.com/

Just enter http://sho.com/stargate in the box labeled

Enter the URL address in the form to start surfing securely

And you will be able to access most features of the SGC tho training
and CO functions don't appear to work this way :(

Additional notes

Due to a glitch a large number of ID's have not been transfered to
the new site yet but all active ID's WILL be transfered, hopefully
within the next 24hrs

Ryan is also aware of various probs in relation to units (displaced
CO's for eg) and rosters and will be working on resolving those probs
today.

All wishing to join forces to petition for the site to be accessable
to ALL not just US please send emails etc to MGM not to Ryan (or SHO
as he get's those going to him) as it is a legal matter relating to
SHO's contract with MGM. Ryan and SHO will be unable to do anything
to resolve the issues unless MGM allow them the legal rights to do
so :(.

I tried www.megaproxy but it doesn't seem to support Flash, would anyone be able to recommend a good proxy server that uses flash please?

Don't panic

Okay so I said don't panic, but I'm doing so myself.
The megaproxy isn't working at all. There was no warning of this!! Why the hell did they suddenly decide to pull in the legal jargon?
The site has been running round the world for a number of years now and BOOM! There it goes - nick off non us people, we don't want your grubby fingers here!
I've just lost my e-mail account with sg-1.com - this means I've just about lost my entire address list and important e-mails.
Any updates as far as getting the site back online via the proxy?

Rather irate user here...

FYI, the mail host is BigMailBox... www.bigmailbox.com

If you go to there site, you may find some way of accessing your email and address book there.

If you can't send bigmailbox an email and explain what they have done.
 
I'm getting full access now to RE's and MALP's etc by using the proxy addy set up as described at http://sg5.co.uk

It's just a matter of finding a proxy addy that works well for you and that supports flash :)

Okay I'm going to cry now.
Despite the fact that I have a brother with two degrees in computing who has taught me how to use my blessed Frodo, I have a minor problem.
I'm running on an LAN connection, not through an ISP. Which. Is bad. As I'm sure we all know *grin*
