The episode is another fan favourite, written by David Gerrold.
Although full of dangerous situations: Klingons all over the space station, a Klingon spy in the space station personnel, a lifeform that could overrun the galaxy, and an entire planet almost poisoned; it is usually the humourous parts that are best remembered: Scotty's fight with the Klingons, Kirk's treatment of Nilz Barris, Kirk under the grain silo filled with tribbles and the antics of Cyrano Jones.
DS9 brought the episode to a whole new generation, when it was revisited 'Back to the Future' like, in 'Trials and Tribbleations'.
When McCoy tells Kirk in Sickbay about the results of his investigation, he has his telephone ringing in the background!!!
