I've wondered about this ever since the finale. What would the Fed do with the futuristic technology that Voyager brought back with them? Keep it and duplicate it? Destroy it? Share it?

I definitely think they would keep it and use it, not too sure if they would share it, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't destroy it. There may be those who would have second thoughts about it but I think that the powers that be would definitely keep it, possibly they would try to figure on the ramifications of the use of it but I still don't think they would even consider destroying it. JMHO.:rolly2:

Can a law be back dated to affect those living before it was created?

It strikes me the only one that is breach of the Temporal Directive was Janeway the older

Alright then, my question should have been:

Would they allow them to profit from such blatent temporal manipulation?

But maybe they would, there is ample evidence in earlier Trek of the timeline not being reset, provided the final outcome was advantageous. I would expect them to also go back and change all those back again if they were being fair. Since they don't, we can assume that they do allow some things to pass by.

Okay, continue with your discussion, I'll allow you to keep your new toys! :D

They may even send Voyager back again!

DAm good point there Dave... they already were invoved with Voyager and the damage JAneway did

I think if the Temporal Directive was to be applied they would have to stop Admiral Janeway.

As it is, they didn't, which suggest the temporal cops only get involved if it means a disadvantage to Star Fleet and/or the Federation

I think that is a dangerous question. A politician with the ability to wander around in the past to make things suit themselves?

Terrifying!

I'd prefer it if they simply destroyed the technology that gives them the ability to muck about with time in the first place.

As for the technology Voyager brings home, it is now obsolete on the grounds that the Borg do know about it and how it may be countered. So they will have to invent something different for the next invasion attempt. So perhaps history corrects itself?

The problem with trying to correct any incursions is that you could end up making things worse. We all know what a mess Anorax and the Kremen made of it. Unless it's absolutely essential, it's probably not worth the risk.
