Sci-Fi Channel buys all 9 seasons

theyre gona begin showing season 1 in autumn

By SciFi do you mean THE SciFi Channel? If so, then awesome! And I hope that means all versions of SciFi Channel will air them... here and in the UK.

Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but...

I read on Scifi.com that the US SciFi Channel has indeed picked up the rerun rights to all 9 seasons of The X-Files. They are going to share the rights with TNT and begin showing all 202 eppys starting this fall. For more info see Scifi.com. It's under SciFi Wire in the SciFi Channel section. They announced this on April 2nd along with the announcement that they also acquired the rights to Roswell.

hmm, ok Im a little confused.

Im in the uk.
Will the 9th series be aired on SkyOne or Scifi channel?

I couldn't imagine our scifi channel being able to out bid Sky One, nor can I see Sky One be willing to let the x-files go. :alienooh:

I would imagine that the UK would see Season 9 as usual and then the reruns begin. But I'm not familiar with the overseas networks. Maybe someone else can answer this for sure...

i think most likely skyone will show them first and then scifi channel can begin showing the whole thing. i mean the first season will only be rerun on scifi channel in august so plenty of time for sky one to finish season 9
