You guys seen this publicity picture yet?

They look so like them! I mean, I was expecting a few alterations, but they look exactly like the cartoon! :D

If you haven't seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, you should give it a watch. It's far from Kevin Smith's best film, but the Scooby gang make a guest appearance - of sorts. They also look remarkably like the originals.
If you watch it on DVD, you can check out the deleted scenes, too; you'll see Scooby as you've never seen him before.

I hope they do that little "slide-like run" :D

An it wont be complete unless they finish the mystery with:

"And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!"

I'm just glad scrappy doo aint in it. That dog was just annoying!

It's a funny thing about Scrappy Doo; no-one liked him. And I mean no-one. Every time the topic of Scooby Doo comes up, everyone agrees that Scrappy is an abomination. He's got to be the most universally disliked character in the history of animation.

Thing is, Scrappy was a really cute puppy, but he just didn't listen to one thing scooby or shaggy told him to do.

Plus he looks up to scooby and had that misguided notion that his uncle could kick anyones @$$.

Freddy Prince Junior just doesn't look right to me as Freddy.

There is no way they could make that movie and not mention that line at some point - not in today's irony-heavy remakes anyway.

But still, I think I will probably go see it :alienooh:

And as for the Scooby Gang in Jay and Silent Bob - very funny! And gross in that outtake :dead:

what's "Jay and Silent Bob". It sounds really familiar but I just can't place it!

Jay and Silent Bob are a creation of Kevin Smith, and they pop up in most of his movies, most recently in

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Does this pic ring any bells?

It's official! www.ScoobyDoo.com is up and running.

In anticipation of what is expected to be Warner Bros. blockbuster summer hit, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby himself have all taken up residence at Spooky Island on the internet where they've got everything you ever wanted to know about this crime busting bunch of kids and their faithful snoop with a snout, Scooby-Doo.

Visitors can meet the gang one by one where everybody has their own page as well as peruse games, screensavers, photos, trailers, posters, news, message boards and trivia. But that's not all, folks...

Check out the Scooby-talk translator where you can translate any message into Scooby-talk and then fire it off to friend or foe. After all, a crime fighter's work is never done.

"Scooby-Doo" opens in theatres June 14.

Anyone seen this yet?

From what I can tell, most of the ascifi-ers in this thread are in the UK, but just curious to know if anyone out there has seen the Scooby Doo movie yet?

I saw it this evening. It was pretty good, I had a few chuckles here and there - I found it very hard to take Sarah Michelle Gellar seriously as Daphne, her portrayal of the character came came across like the season two episode of Buffy when she thought she was a medieval princess. It was odd.
The rest of the cast were great though, and maybe it is my geekiness coming through, but I though Velma was the coolest

Spoiler for part of the film /ref to conversation above
Scrappy DOES make an appearance - but he is pretty much ridiculed! He even pees on Daphne at one point - ewwwww
DOn't think I would go out of my way to watch it again.

i saw it and i really liked it. SMG was supposed to play daphne like that. daphne was always the damsel in distress and always the ditzy chick. i think she played her well.

and bye bye scrappy doo! never liked him much anyway....

I know I know - but my brain has just typecast her as Buffy... Although I did really like her in Cruel Intentions...

Fortunatley I don't really watch Buffy, so I don't really have that typecast issue with her.

What was the animation of scoobydoo like?

it was pretty good. it was realistic enough, but still had that cartoon quality to it.

They look so much like them!

Probably might go & see the movie to see how good it is compaired to the cartoon
