Book recommendation: SALT
Greetings!
I just wanted to recommend a SF book thats called "SALT," by Adam Roberts. Its a really great work! The writing is superb. Its a thoughtful and moving book told from 2 very different view points by the main characters of the book. I really like the way that he writes, the prose is intricate and clear as, salt Ill post whats written on the back of the book as it will tell much better than I can! lol
We are fragile. We dissolve in immensity like salt in water.
And after thirty-seven years of travel though the vastness of space we arrived on the planet SALT. And we took Heaven and Hell with us.
SALT is the story of the planetary colonisation that slips into tragedy of biblical proportions. United by the dream of a new beginning, isolated in a landscape of cruel majesty, the two communities who went to Salt were torn apart by ancient enmities.
SALT is moving, intelligent and great book. If you enjoy the political edge of Ian Banks books and the demands of Doris Lessings then your love SALT. If you enjoy intelligent SF that will make you laugh and sigh then your love SALT.
OK! Thats enough typing from me now lol I have another Adam Roberts book sitting on my bookshelf that I havent read yet Its called ON. Hopefully it will be as good as this one was.
