Well, Star trek new genaration works pretty well without Spok, Kirk and McCoy,Scotty ... but Star Gate SG1 has too many potencial yet.

In order to make the film they will let us frustrating and with a void in the context.

I do not want a spin off. I want SG- 1.

RDA wants to cut down, MS will have left, that would leave AT and CJ to carry the show and lead, and it wouldn't really work. Plus they wanna do a movie and a psin off, it had to end somewhere...

Nobody is unreplaceable. The mitology is so rich ! I think it's gonna work ! They need the right actor and the right context.

See Spincity, who says the show will not end with MJF exit ? Nobody. Do you know why ? Two words: Chales Sheen.

And WHY XF is over ? Two words again: Chris Carter. I'm sorry but Robert patrick must be the cheap choice. Besides the return to the begining didn't make any fan happy. We liked the humor and the UST. It will work with another actors. IT's the OLD FORMULA just it !

To say that they show can't be held up by AT and CJ is harsh. AT is a wonderful talent and CJ has taken a back seat for so darn long. Mix them up with new people that make sense and are interesting and the show could have made the change. Really, I love so many of the "guest star" types they pull on, I don't get why they can't draft a cast of fantastic regulars (and not kill them off for a cheap plot line...) Personally, I think they left the spin off idea until too late. I've been pulling for the new blood for close to a year now, but their stuck with the "SG-1" part. They think on a very narrow band. They think the show can only be about the fab four minus one. They need the new title and show to break the mold; get out of the corner they've painted themselves into.

No offense, fans. I know most of us like the present crew better than the (first) movie, but many people liked the movie so well, they were prepared not to like the new cast.

I think it would work.

And SG1 does have to end somewhre, but if MGM et al play their cards right then we'll have some great new SG in the future, and (like Star Trek) it'll continue strong for a long time to come.

We may not like it but it must all end somewhere, I just hope they give them a good send off
