I used to watch Space Precinct when it was on BBC2 about 2 million years ago. Saw some cheap vids for that and B5 the other day, £3 I think. Cool show. It should have a mini forum like QL :D

good idae but i think thered only be like 4 ppl there!

I did wonder about asking for a "Gerry Anderson mini-forum" though, that might get about 5 people (Bayleaf is a big fan of 'Thunderbirds') and that would be more than post in the 'Blake's Seven' forum.

hey

i think we shud get one tho.
i mean i think ppl who like SP are just sorta hidng...coz there aint nowher to post anythuing.
wat do u reckon?

That is done by Gerry Anderson & it was rather good, but not as good as one of his ....!

u can all thank me later........no really.....THANK me.........lol:D

You can't rush these things Chilly.

Even if everyone else agrees, someone would have to enact the changes. Padders has exams and isn't here very much at the moment, Mythinglink and Neo are busy people too.

The best way to get a new forum in the past has been to prove it is required. So, go out and start some new threads. There are at least 20 Gerry Anderson shows, and we have about 3 or 4 threads here. That would be my suggestion.

I can't divulge what other mods say in private, but I know that Padders has said before that he is adverse to starting new forums for shows that are no longer in production. They tend to be very quiet.

Does it cost money on the server thing for each new forum then?

No, it's nothing to do with money. It's just that we want this site to be popular.

If you go to our Stargate forum and see all the posts there, it is a really happening place. It must be one of the top Stargate boards on the net. This brings more visitors here.

Now look at some of the mini-forums. Would you post there if you were just surfing around. Some have had no posts in weeks. We wouldn't want more like that. It is better just to have a few threads in another forum, than another empty one.

Look at this site:
http://www.the-continuum.co.uk/forums/

Does seeing all those empty forums make you want to join it, or would you go elsewhere.

More Forums = Less posts.

Strange but true.

But sometimes it is better to be prepared for the rush that you expect. That's why Star Wars is there.

The Continum is a little 'Windy City'.

Though in fairness the whole site has the feel of something that has only just started and as a webpage, compared to Ascifi, which is entering as big league discussion forum.

I read somewhere that something else was being planned, does anyone else know?

i read today on teletext that Gerry Anderson is gonna spend the next two years making 26 new Captain Scarlet eps with computers. nothing will beat the original series though!

Thanks for that sounds good, but IMHO it would have been better if he had decided to make more 'Thunderbirds'.

BTW That wasn't the rumour I heard, I heard that there was something completely new.

I'm going to split this thread as it has gone off-topic. That was my fault, not blaming anyone else

I do hope that a mini forum fro Gerry Anderson is llowed as there are SO many shows of his that are worth talking about!

Ther are plans to do a computer generated carry on series of 'Thunderbirds' &/or a live action film of 'Thunderbirds', I personally myself hope that the live action film goes ahead!

Anyways since this thread has been started (by a lovely mod) could they possibly add a poll at the top? Or could you start the thread again and put all these posts in it? Just to help find out how popular a Gerry Anderson forum would be.

Good idea because having a poll at the top WOULD most definitely help in finding out what people's opinion is, personally myself, I think that there should be one as it will hopefully encourage more fans of Gerry ANdeson's other shows to post about them & I think I know that Annette amogst a couple of others is a 'Thunderfan' like myself!
