I read that CN said that in a interview. I will really like this, could keep the show more interesting although the future absence of Jack and Daniel will be there.

In season 5 they killed Sam/ Jack tension. I hope that Jack fellings been threatened bring back the romance and the old UST to the show.

We don't need romance, all we need is some good Sci-Fi, some mystery and more of those comical moments between freinds that SG1 are so good at...

Well, thats what I think anyway :)

We also need someone brave enough and smart enough to stand up to Jack when he's heading for the moral low ground and shooting from the hip.

Unfortunately... :dead:

So S.G. -1 will just head into the sunset as stereotypical run-of-the-mill pulp sci-fi. <sigh> "Don't it always go to show that you don't know what you've got till it's gone; they've taken Paradise, and put up a parking lot." [Joni Mitchell]

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

Very true, that was what Danny did best, lets hope this Jonas person is good at it, or things could be messy....

Show me SCI-FI without romance and I will show you the word CANCELED.

Who don't needs romance ??? Well, I don't need ONLY romance in SG but the other things (action, science coherence, time line sequence, cast chemistry and others) are very good in the show.

I am very sorry that this show will end in S6 the mitology is perfect. So perfect that I think it could continue without RDA.

Well, I can't see it myself, certainly not by the gutless character we were presented with in 'Meridian'.

Nyan would have been much more plausible in that he was presented as both an independent thinker and a brave little soul :)

Best wishes,

I have to agreee with you there. Plus Nayan was Danny's research assistant.

But what is this Sam and Jonas thing all about anyway?
Why on earth would anyone go down that path when the S/J thing is so strong and has been part of the show from the beginning. Any mention of Sam/Jonas would be squashed very quickly.

Plus, even though TPTB have said that Sam is the one who will be making Jonas feel most welcome, I still find that very out of character for her, considering her close relationship with Daniel. I'm not saying that Sam would be hostile towards Jonas, but I don't think she would be so eager to make the guy feel comfortable etc.

Funny, I read an interview with CN in which he said there will be NO romantical interaction between his character and Samantha Carter.
I will seek out where I found it and come back to post the link, so you can see what I'm talking about.
Personally I don't want to see any kind of romance between ANY members of the team. I hated the S/J moments and although I'm willing to give the new guy a chance - because I know I won't be able to turn out the tv when season six will finally be aired - if there will be romantic relationships between the two or even more emotional babble of Jack and Sam then that's the moment I REALLY will switch off.
What I want are well-written stories about our heroes, definately new cultures after *that* last season, and aventure stories. :D :D

I suppose they're looking for ways to make the Jonas character more palatable. It appears that TPTB have gotten their fair share of nasty emails about the loss of Shanks (I certainly hope they have).

actor playing Jonas

Pic for y'all.

Of course, the 'up' side of a Sam/Jonass romance is that her men don't tend to live too long... :D

Paradigm: aversion to something new, live by old models ...

ha, I was going to mention the part about black widow Sam but Hatshepsut beat me to it

:D

Sam and Jonas??? PLEASE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
what is it with the producers of the show Are they totally devolved frm reality? Sam...confident, intelligent, strong and independent. And yet they keep giving her love interests with the most wimpy, ineffectual men in the universe! It would NOT happen. Sam needs an equal, not a drip! Jack was the logical answer for her. The fact that they were both military allowed for a hint of romance but without any real interaction. I liked that. It worked in X files and various other shows. Put Sam with a team member she isn't forbidden from being with and the show will turn into a slushy love story. Not to mention a great risk for the whole SG team.

I so TOTALLY agree!!

THERE WILL BE NO FRATERNIZATION BETWEEN ALIEN RACES! I HAVE SPOKEN!

All I can say is...
...Sam/Jonas ewwwwww, <hack, hack> urrghh :dead:

:D

A Sam/Jonas relationship wouldn't surprise me at all considering TPTB's track record of good, fan pleasing decisions.

(That's sarcasm, btw.)
