What's the name of the stick used by the Goa'uld to shock prisonners ?

We see it many times, especially when Teal'c is captured, near the end of season four, and again used by these cowboys (sigh) who enslaved many unas.

I don't think it has ever been named explicitly. Like many of the devices really - e.g. the Zatarc's laser, the laser used by the archaeologist in "Window of Opportunity", the miniature holo-emitter in "Seth" and so on.

I seen it generically referred to as a 'shock rod'.

After watching every episode of the show at least twice I can safetly say it never was named on the show. Whether it does actually have a name will have to remain a mystery.

Shock Rod ? Well, fine for me.

Funny, none of the tech sites I have visited mentions the Shock Rod nor they show or give information about that.

I'm curious to know how it can make people literally throw rays of light from their mouth and eyes. Seems odd.

Since its causing pain it is surely emitting some sort of energy.

This energy could easily spread throughout the body in a direct spread pattern from the source. It could also travel within the body, and become visible when it leaves the body at openings such as eyes and mouth. Sort of.
