Unfortunately I haven't seen season 5 yet as I don't get showtime and have to have a friend tape it for me and then mail it from the east coast, I'm on the west coast, so I have no idea what's become of the show lately but have heard stuff from the boards and interviews and such. I have no idea how Kawalski could fit in till I see where the show's going but if they'd bring him back they'd have to go back to the alien storylines maybe, that might force them to go back to the good ol days of hunting goa'uld and aliens, and discovering new worlds and adventures of fun and mystery. I don't know, I just long for those kinds of storylines and bringing the series back to the characters and the relationships and the friendships and hardships they face together. I'm all for stories moving along, but hate too much conspiracy and losing sight of the premise of the show. Bringing back old characters is one way to keep it grounded, keep us interested and intrigue us with, 'how are they gonna explain this one????'
As for Jay, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with him. I can only go on my experience as well. I've had the chance to meet him and hang out with him several times and he's always been very nice, smiling and laughing, joking and courteous, he's funny and honest and is just a guy, like everyone else. I'm sure he has his moods and can be difficult as well, as I've noticed most New Yorkers can be, I should know, my family's from the area, so I know his attitude from growing up there, and to some can seem rude and stuff. But I've never seen him purposely be mean or rude to anyone, especially a fan. He totally realises how great the fans are and appreciates us for backing him and the show so much. He's not a main character and he's only been getting smaller parts so he's not an egomaniac like some actors I've met, he seems alot more down to Earth, from what I've seen. I have seen many actors have bad days and not be all perfect like we'd like them to be, but you know they're just people too and I respect that, I know I'm not a bed of roses every day and I can't expect them to be either. I'm sure if he found out that fans felt he was rude to them or was unappreciative he'd be so sorry and would feel terrible for what he'd done to make them feel that way. I do know he's been working hard trying to find a job and has been stressed out because of that, of course that's no reason to be mean to people, but still, he's human and being his age, with his upbrining, the place, the era, his family and friends, I can see why he is how he is. I still think he's a nice guy and a great actor. He does bad guys very well, that's that upbringing on the streets of NY for ya. He's certainly not like JR or some of the other younger guys, but he's got a deepness to him that's honest and not fake at all. I respect that most of all. We'll see how this year's Gatecon goes. SS
