Is a seventh season of Stargate SG-1 out of the question? Anderson reaffirmed his position that that's probably the case. "No one's talking to me about it," he said. "It was such an ordeal to get a Season Six on board. As far as year seven goes, from my end of it, it would have to be shot in Los Angeles. I can't be away from my daughter. It's going to be hard enough, coming back [to L.A.] on Friday and leaving on Sunday afternoon."

The show still have future ! They do it with X files. I will HATE see SG end in season 6. I don't care about Spin off or some film in 2005. I want my show every week!

Now, now Jeanne (pats her shoulder) I know it's hard to deal with. :( And no, it doesn't make it better to say, 'all good things must come to an end' but there, I've already said it.

Alas, you're in what's known as the 'bargaining' phase of the grieving process - you know, "what about this?" and "why can't they do that?" but in the heady world of sci-fi this transition from S6 to spin off is fairly common. Look at the Treks for instance. Now we would never have had the joy of Star Trek Voyager if the one before it hadn't wound up (can't remember the one before it -Next Generation?).....and who knows what Stargate Atlantis will bring - and you gotta love the prospect of a film with (hopefully) the SG1 cast in it! Huh!

And I suspect they won't move to LA because of that little thing that makes the world go round. Yeah - money. And it wouldn't be the same, now would it? There would be no pine trees and mountains - it would be....well....totally alien.

Hello?

As far as we are aware S6 will be the last...

I cannot see them moving the studio down to LA, they have every thing setup in Vancouver, and besides, it all has to end somewhere, we can't keep them going forever...

No reason not to have a seventh season. :D

If T.P.T.B. are so confident that 'Stargate S.G. -1' can continue without one of the two original characters, then it can do just as successfully without the other one.

So...

Creatively kill off Jack O'Neill and have him ascend to join Mother and Father Nature, ~ see Leah Rosenthal's cartoons <g> ~ bring in another thieving alien traitor, and Bob's your uncle - Series 7 alive and 'kicking butt'... :D

Best wishes,
Hatshepsut

Moving the location

Just the simple cost or moving the shooting location to LA [increased costs], is prohibitive. That's one of the major reasons it's shot in Canada. It's cheaper due to the exchange rate. US dollars go further.

This didn't stop the X-files from moving to LA. Yes, the series was living off a glut of money, I know. Moving a studio isn't that big of a deal. Technically the SG-1 guys are lucky the Vancouver gov't isn't closing Bridge due to budget crisis stuff. I bet the orginization that run's Bridge studio dreds the last day of shooting as much as we do. The income from them keeps them going until the next studio/production moves in.

But IMHO moving to LA killed the XF. Actor-wise, look and feel-wise, and story-wise. SG-1 has already lost a bit of the story "bite" it had, I'd hate to see it go the route of the XF and become "fancy guest-star appearance central" with smog.
