Who was the better character in the films?

Nah the Uruks were cool. Quite well done I thought. And when the lord of the Nazgul came and killed Boromir in form of an Uruki leader named Lurtz, I was amazed cause I didn't know Nazgul could change form.

I voted Boromir because I felt Sean Bean did a very good job with that character.

However my favourite non-Fellowship character of the three movies would have to be Eowyn, especially when she fought the Lich King. As a woman I enjoy seeing other women playing strong fighting roles in high/epic fantasy.

and in doing so betrayed everything that Book Aragorn stood for.
Movie Aragorn = reluctant king, only doing it because he is essentially being forced into it. And if anything, almost only because otherwise he'll lose Arwen "I have never wanted it" the kingship/power... PJ was a complete imbecile when he mischaracterised Aragorn so badly.

Book Aragorn = Born to be a King, ready and willing to be the King Gondor needs after YEARS and YEARS of exploring and learning from all the Kings and Stewards of Middle Earth. With added Arwen incentive as icing.

I really like Boromir's last scene, his redeeming battle. I'd say its one of my favourite scenes in the whole story because it's just that, it "redeems" him.

And I really like Sean Bean, great actor.

I voted for Boromir as well. I guess I like the more flawed characters who in the end find a way to redeem themselves, although they would never see that in themselves. Another flawed character I like is Colonel Tigh from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica for the same reasons, I guess I just go for the underdog. All the actors/characters in the LotR movies did such a fine job in my eyes, I don't know for the life of me why people diss Elijah Wood's performance so much. While his characters reasons seemed less believable to me when at the end after all he had been through to embrace the ring like that seems...not well contrived, I still like him as an actor very much. Boromir at least let his mind think he could use it to 'save' his people from the darkness, while Frodo was just, nah, I think I'll keep it after it has been punishing me for these many months. I really need to read those books.

Well...it's a tie between Pippin, Merry, and Faramir. I haven't read the books, so with no preconcieved notions about them, I thought they were all portrayed very well. I love the scene where Pippin sings in ROTK, I love how Merry and Pippin act together, and Faramir...well, he was just really cool and I feel as if I can identify with him, myself not being the favored child As for the other characters, I thought they were good too, but simply because he has the most amazing eyes ever (and I have a really weird thing about cool eyes...) Elijah Wood. For the acting, Karl Urban as Eomer and Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn

No, the Uruk-Hai leader in the Fellowship who killed Boromir was Lurtz.

Uhhh, Nazgul cannot change form. I'm curious where you got this idea that there was a Nazgul there. There is never any indication in any way that Boromir was killed by anything but Orcs.

In the books there ins't even a big bad dude for Aragorn to kill. They made that character up for the movie for effect. If I remember correctly, Boromir's last stand isn't even in the books at all. Aragorn comes upon Boromir after the fight has already ended. Boromir mortally wounded but still barely holding onto life.

i liked Aragorn in the films. a lot of that had to do with Viggo Mortensen's acting throughout the trilogy.
