This aired in the U.S. last night. Found it interesting but a little confusing at first.

Is anyone else who watched it wondering about the cat? I think it is part of the plot, but am wondering why it was never followed up on. Maybe later?

I was torn on this one. The ending was good but everything else was kind of pointless. I agree with you about the cat though, Emily.

The writing was also confusing. I mean, first the crew is looking for Tir & Beka, and then they appear out of nowhere & no one seems suspicious as to where they came from without explanation until strange things start happening on the ship. If it was my crew, I'd be asking them for a full report before everything else.

Trance actually using her powers was cool, but there didn't seem to be much of an effect from it, unless it was to knock out Beka? The entire plot of that episode seemed confusing and tangled up, & I'm not that easily confused. I like Andromeda, but IMHO that episode could have been written better.

I second that.

No one seemed that surprised when Beka and Tyr showed up the bridge. I did like Harper's little hug he gave Tyr though. :)

Why didn't Rommie know Tyr was going to pull something though? And what the heck was going on with the kiss? Maybe I missed something but where did Harper's machine come from? The one that opened the portal? That and didn't the Maru have a huge hole in the hull? How did that get repaired?

There were just so many little problems with this episode.

As for Trances powers, I don't think she wanted Beka to know the full extent of them, that's why she didn't use them very much.

Last but not least: the new voice over. It's good that they had Kevin do it this season but I don't like his lines.

"The Adventures"

What's up with that? From now on are they going to wandering the galaxy aimlessly having adventures? After all we went through in seasons one and two I hate that they're just abandoning the Commonwealth so completely.

I didn't get the impression that they were giving up on the Commonwealth, but rather that they want to do some exploring along the way, reminiscent of Star Trek. I do hope they won't try to make Andromeda into a Star Trek clone.

What exactly was wrong with Tyr and Beka? My mom walked in and started talking the moment they were about to explain it all so I completely missed it.

They had apparently been taken over by some kind of alien force that was in the wormhole tunnel.

I still think the cat has something to do with it all.

Like the episode but both of you give good points. I also think like Emily that the cat have something to do with all the thing. I don't know is the cat dissapear when they cut the rays that were affecting Tyr and Beka. Also wonder why they accept so easily Beka and Tyr been in the ship. I notice some glances of surprises but nothing more. As Lonewolf89 point out, love the hug that Harper give Tyr. :D

Tyr and Beka were acting very strange since the beginning really wonder why take so much time to the rest to notice that something was wrong. Enjoy also to see Tyr and Dylan's interaction. Specially when Tyr ask Dylan is he harm him. It was strange to see Tyr so affected by something when he usually is the strong one. But it was great to see another side of his character.

Krystal :p

yeah, again i have mixed feelings about this.

A lot of it was confusing - like what was it that Dylan wanted to do in the Maru and whatever it was why give up so easily - that's not very Dylan like.

And they spent all of the last episode trying to close the tunnel and most of this one trying to reopen it - hmmmm interesting decision!!! Surely Dylan won't place his friends over the safety of the entire universe.

Liked Trance's powers - but if she could untie herself all along, why didn't she do it much sooner??

As for the voice over - yes having Sorbo do it is good. But i liked "On the starship Andromeda, Hope lives again." That was their tagline, almost like "To boldly go...." You can't mess with that :(

I think Trance waited to free herself for two reasons. One, she wanted to be sure she knew what the heck was going on with Beka, and two because she was hope she could talkBeka out of her insanity without showing her powers.

The episode

The kitten was part of the Illusion the aliens from the vortex (who controled Tyr and Becka) were using. If you notice the kitten was in that 'fake' message' Dylan watched a few times showing Tyr and Becka fighting something.

I found it a pretty good start to the season. I am glad Rommie got rid of that blue hair! :)

The only puzzle I could see was what happend to all the visiting aliens who were on board Andormeda at the end of last season, and in Part I of this episode...

I think they escaped to the other ships in the Commonwealth fleet at the same time that the Nietzschean Admiral did. But then that brings to mind, where did the fleet go? Why wouldn't Dylan have asked one of his ships to stick around? The Wraith of Achilles would have been a big help in getting the Andromeda out of the dimensional tunnel.

I agree, bearing in mind all the problems with the tunnel, AND the fact that he knew the Maru was back on Andromeda MINUS Tyr and Beka was enough of a sign that sumthin was up - it couldn't have been more obvious it it were a big red and flashing sign thingy

But, I did notice that all the time Dylan was talking the Beka when she first appeared, he was looking at her very 'carefully' don't know how else to put that, just that he seemed to be trying to size here up - know what I mean.

Also, what was up at the end with Tyr's arms - his extra bony bits were gone (no idea what they are called)

As for the kiss - well, if they were being controlled by the forces/powers from the tunnel then it is one of two things (a) there were 2 different powers or beings that were partners and wanted to use the bodies to try a bit of physical stuff, or (b) the tunnel beings kind of got the feeling that these two bodies were attracted to each other and just went for it.

My vote goes for (b) cos there has been some major chemistry boiling up between the those two for a while

Man, would I have loved to be Beka in that scene - Keith Hamilton Cobb is impossibly handsome - just gorgeous !!!!

Did the tunnel beings remind anyone else of the "wormhole aliens" in Deep Space 9? I get the feeling that something big is going on here, but it'll probably be a few more eps before the writers let us in on it.

I think too that we will see this new aliens again, looking forward for more answers of where they come from, what they want etc.

Agree also that it would be good to see some of the other ships stay around.

Did anyone else like or dislike the split screen effect?

That was annoying in my opinion, then they went and did it in SoR too.
