SGU is looking for faculty and staff members. Interested?
Stargate U is a new project of mine; however, how well it does depends
less on me and more on all of you - Stargate fans. Modeled after
X-Files University, founded in 1998, SGU is a system where writing
'essays', fanfiction and creating artwork earns you 'degrees' -- in
short, it's a fun way to flaunt your dedication to the show in all its
many aspects. Ever wanted to get a B.S. in Jack O'Neill Studies? How
about a Ph.D. in Fanfic? A nice shiny diploma to hang on your website?
This would be the place for you.
But before we can start taking students, we need faculty! Deans and
department heads who are willing to take the time and responsibility of
reviewing others' work to make it the best it can be. People who really
care about their students - other fans - and who are willing to
contribute to the SGU network. It doesn't matter what section of fandom
you call home; if you're up to the challenge, you're welcome on board.
Look over the website - http://www.geocities.com/sguniversity/ - and pay
special attention to the Course Catalogue and Faculty sections. It's a
big project, but with enough participation it can be a great deal of
fun. And please, feel free to forward this on to other groups, lists,
forums, newsgroups, etc... anywhere Stargate fans are found.
