This one COUld prove to be interesting & basically it's about which show of Gerry Andeson is your favourite & I'm going to start off by saying 'Thunderbirds' is mine :rolly2:  , followed by 'Stingray'. :rolly2:

I always preferred Thunderbuckets, all daring-do.

I liked the humour of Terrahawks as well.

So it looks like we've got another 'Thunderfan' too!

You tried the "Thunderbirds Quiz" yet?

Yes I did and badly too. Thanks!

Think I should have stolen more of my grandsons comics;)

As in the words of Jeff Tracy: 'Never Give Up!', have as many attempts as you want too :rolly2:

I vote Thunderbirds too, mainly because of the many different storylines they had, as well as the impressive range of vehicles that were created for the show.

If I remember correctly Stingray was the first Anderson show I ever saw, and although I enjoyed it, I soon became a bigger fan of Thunderbirds instead.

I'm surprised you have included UFO in your list though, as I thought this forum was only about the marionation side of things - but I guess some of those UFO actors did act like puppets! :D

My idea was that this forum could be about all of Gerry Andersons work. I thought that the suggestion of a Thunderbirds or Space Precinct forum wouldn't get the Ok from the top, because it would be a bit limited.

In case you didn't realise, Gerry Anderson hasn't only made SuperMarionation films and shows. This is a Production List from the Fanderson site:

The Adventures Of Twizzle
Torchy The Battery Boy
Four Feather Falls
Crossroads To Crime (Feature Film)
Supercar (Series One)
Supercar (Series Two)
Fireball XL5
Stingray
Thunderbirds (Series One)
Thunderbirds Are Go (Feature Film)
Thunderbirds (Series Two)
Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons
Thunderbird 6 (Feature Film)
Joe 90
Doppelgänger (Feature Film - aka Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun)
The Secret Service
UFO
The Protectors (Series One)
The Protectors (Series Two)
The Investigator (Unscreened Pilot)
Space:1999 (Year One)
The Day After Tomorrow Into Infinity (Pilot Film)
Space:1999 (Year Two)
Terrahawks (Series One)
Terrahawks (Series Two)
Space Police Star Laws (Unscreened Pilot)
Dick Spanner
GFI (Unscreened Pilot)
Space Precinct
Lavender Castle

The Protectors had quite a large budget and wasn't SciFi at all, but it never was popular in the USA, and ultimately got cancelled.

The film 'Journey to the Far side of the Sun' is dreadful, although the concept is interesting.

Strangely there is quite a few there I don't remember (Supercar), a number I only vaguely recall (Journey to the Far Side of the Sun) and a couple I'd rather not remember (Joe 90).

If I remember rightly, at the time The Protectors came out there were a huge range of other 'The's' about. The Champions, The Persuadors, The Avengers, The Saint, even Randall and Hopkirk all offering much the same in quick succesion. The Protectors got lost.

There are few writers/producers that have such a huge range of different show styles under their belt as Gerry Anderson. Which shows how gifted he is.

Thanks for that Dave :rolly2:

I can ONLY remember a limited number of his & so those one's that I remembered by title are on the poll & the ONLY three that I can post about are 'Thunderbirds', 'Captain Scarlet' & 'Stingray' as those ARE the ones that I've seen , sorry about the big number of threads to do with 'Thunderbirds' & if you wanted too :erm:, could you please add the others to the poll :crying:

Actually, there are some there that I've never seen either. I can't remember SuperCar for one. I'll add to the poll is anyone wants to vote for them, but I think you have the most popular ones.

Well-- what can I say!!!!-- I saw them all- and at the time they were released onto the TV. I loved all the puppet productions but became interested in Sci-fi when Anderson started to use actors. So -- UFO and space 1999 were my favourites - that is 1970-- and 1975? I think?
Anderson filled in a gap in the sci fi- entertainment arena.. Lots of stuff was showing in america but didn't come to england --untill Star trek--was that the late 60's?
I'll watch this forum with great interest!

Ah, I was under the impression that this forum was only going to deal with the marionation side of things - that's good, because I was a fan of UFO and Space 1999.

I was aware of most of the other shows you mentioned, but there were a few that I hadn't heard of before - the Andersons were definitely busy campers! :D

Thanks Dave :rolly2:

Sure looks as if they were Techno :eek4: :erm: :eek7: :errrr:
