I liked the guy. I think he and Sam have real sparkage. They make a good couple for a lot of reasons:
1. He actually understands what she's talking about.
2. He shares her passion for science (e.g. HIS eyes don't glaze over when she speaks).
3. He's a civilian - no chain of command or fraternizing regulations to worry about.
4. They're roughly the same age.
