TrekWeb has received the first information on the second season premiere of ENTERPRISE, "Shockwave, Part II".
In this exciting finale to the first season finale, the story picks up on Earth of the 31st century and has some interesting surprises in store.

According to our source, Archer and Crewman Daniels visit a human camp while searching for a library. Women in the camp show confusion when Daniels asks them where a monument is that he's looking for. After a moment he realizes the truth: the monument was never built.

Archer is curious and asks Daniels what he's looking for. The mysterious time traveller tells him that he brought Archer to this point in time in order to protect the future, not cause these disastrous results. He informs Archer that the monument stood for a Federation, that doesn't exist in the captain's timeline yet.

Daniels doesn't elaborate further and the two proceed to search for the library. But the data is all stored electronically and Archer quickly learns from the inhabitants' confused responses that there is no electricity -- and they don't seem to understand why Archer is surprised to see all the destruction surrounding them.

The two men reach a large building in disrepair. As they ascend a staircase we see a huge rotunda structure, with floors upon floors of bookshelves. Daniels doesn't understand why there are paper books in this building, they shouldn't be there he insists. Archer suggests looking through some of them to discover clues as to the fate of history.

Meanwhile on the bridge of the Enterprise, the Suliban and Silik have boarded the ship. Silik recovers the discs stolen from the Suliban ship and forces Hoshi to admit that they hadn't had time to copy them. A new Suliban officer, Raan, emerges from the turbolift and tells Silik that Archer isn't there. Silik interrogates T'Pol about Archer's knowledge of the Temporal Cold War and she tells him that Archer was last seen entering the turbolift.

Silik detects a temporal signature in the lift and surmises that perhaps the crew isn't lying. He orders Trip to disable all ship's systems except engineering and the bridge. For now, the crew must comply and the NX-01 moves away at impulse with the enemy vessels.

The Enterprise docks with the Suliban helix and Silik and Raan attempt to contact their commander from the future in the echo chamber. Silik becomes concerned when he will not respond and Raan suggests that perhaps he is angry that they did not retrieve Archer. Raan suggests destroying the Enterprise to complete their original mission but Silik insists that Archer has travelled in time and they need new instructions. They cannot raise the FutureGuy and Raan again says they should destroy the Enterprise. Silik orders Raan to bring him T'Pol.

In the 31st century, Archer and Daniels read books on the floor of the dark, dusty library. Archer says he hasn't found a single reference to a Federation and Daniels says he shouldn't expect to -- after all, the captain wasn't there. Archer regards the notion that his disappearance could change history dubiously.

Reed is in his quarters when Hoshi appears outside -- topless (covered with arms). Moments later, as two Suliban officers harrass T'Pol in the corridor, Trip and Reed drop from the ceiling and take them out with hyposprays. [I have heard of a Doctor in an RPG who does this -- Dave] In Trip's quarters the officers agree on a dangerous course of action.

Later, Silik tries making contact with the future informant, Trip mounts a coup in engineering. Trip rigs an explosion that immobilizes several Suliban soliders coming to investigate engineering -- Trip has set a warp core reactor breach.

Silik orders the Enterprise away from the Helix as he continues working with a glowing device in the Helix chamber, Raan commanding the Suliban operation on the Enterprise. Suliban ships begin towing the NX-01, nacelles trailing plasma exhaust, away from the helix. Meanwhile, Silik's work with the strange glowing device seems to pay off as a figure begins to materialize on the platform.

Please keep in mind that this information is based on early and incomplete portions of the script for the episode and much can and is likely to change by the time the episode airs.

It sounds very good. B & B have worked hard on it, I heard, in a change to the usual procedure they began writing it before filming part I.

Trek Today has reported more on the visit to the library in the 31st century for mentions of the Federation - only to find out that the Federation doesn't exist in their timeline because Archer wasn't there.

Brannon Braga: "We're going to hint that someone out there doesn't want to see humans succeed in space, because it's going to eventually result in the formation of an interplanetary alliance. Take that as you will."

Season Two is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, September 18, on UPN with "Shockwave, Part II." The airdate order for the subsequent episodes is not yet confirmed.

SFX magazine has revealed key details about 'Shockwave.'

TREK TODAY -- The magazine [SFX] also revealed key details about the second season premiere, 'Shockwave, Part II.' While information on the first half of the episode has already been made available online (story), SFX has provided the first details on the episode's conclusion.

With Captain Archer trapped in the 31st century, the mysterious Daniels reportedly constructs a "cross space-time communicator," which allows Archer to contact T'Pol on Enterprise.

Meanwhile, with the NX-01 in the hands of the Suliban, Reed raids Daniels's former quarters in the search for a piece of 31st century technology. The armoury officer is caught red-handed, and Silik tries to use the technology to seek instructions from 'Future Guy,' with whom he has lost contact. Silik gets a rude shock when Captain Archer appears in the place of his master.

After a ruse involving a fake reactor overload, the crew escape their genetically-enhanced captors, with an added bonus - Silik, who is now a prisoner aboard the NX-01. However, the Vulcans are still unhappy about the situation, and it is only after T'Pol stands up for her shipmates that the mission is permitted to continue.

Shockwave Review - I took your daddy! You *******!

I have posted a review of Shockwave Part 2 on vectormatrix.net

I liked the foreshadowing of Archer’s role in forming the federation. And it was interesting to see that Archer really has no idea how his mission will eventually make Humanity a major superpower in the Alpha Quadrant.

However, it’s easy to understand Archer’s bewilderment considering nothing from season one even remotely suggests Enterprise has accomplished anything during their mission.

Watched this yesterday -- and that last spoiler you have there Dave - that's pretty much exactly how the episode went --

It wasn't much on action --- but it was okay ---

They still need to learn how to use this 'ensemble' cast better - I'm tired of tuning in all the time only to find that Trip and Archer do everything -- there are like 10 other ppl in the cast ----

And can we learn more about the 'bad guys'?? what good is a nemesis you know absolutely NOTHING about? mystery is good, but it also has it's limits --

I know I probably sound like I hate the show - I really don't - I just think there is still much room for improvement, and instead of doing everything the same as they always have, they should find ways to push the envelope and put some of these other characters 'in the spotlight' --

I watched both part one and part two last night and enjoyed them both very much.
But while watching I thought of some things that kinda bug me.
If Enterprise has the ability to see through the cloak of the Suliban(sp?) ships why don't Kirk and Picard have the same ablity on their ships?
Archer brings this question up to Daniels about the fact that Daniels is still in the future and remebers everthing. How is it that he remebers everything from the 31st century that he remembers and not the new 31st century. If it had changed because Archer what transported to the future then why hadn't Daniels changed too? Oh, these time line episodes always confuse me :(
:blpaw:

I don't believe I missed the Season Premiere...where's my head?

Just posting that this episode airs in the UK on Monday 6th January at 9pm.

This is a typical star trek episode.. Slow to start with with all the action taking place ion the last few mins...

I thought that it was interesting that Archer left T’Pol in command. The outcome when the Suliban boarded would have been very different had Trip been in command instead. Yet, Archer would never have left her in charge had she not already taken command once last season, and proved to be loyal. That fitted in nicely with the ending. If Berman and Braga planned it like that from the beginning I give them top marks.

Archer (picking a book up in the library): “The Romulan Star Empire… What’s that?â€
Daniels: “Maybe you shouldn’t be reading that!â€

Interrogating a Vulcan!! Everyone knows Vulcan cannot lie! A pointless exercise really!

I think you have a point there. The problem with inventing something is thinking of it to begin with, not just if technology has reached the required level. Hence, the saying 'Necessity is the mother of invention'. If they know that such things as a 'Cloak' and a 'Cross space-time communicator' can exist, then that is half the problem of making them solved.

I enjoyed this and thought that they had some clever things going on that you had to keep an eye/ear on. Like when they said to Malcolm about him being the one to go to Daniel's cabin that things could get pretty bad and was he really up for it (I'm para phrasing !!!) they obviously already knew that part of Archer's plan was that Malcom would get caught and mullered and have to make it sound convincing that they wanted the gizmo to be destroyed - enough to make the guy use it. Poor old Malcolm he got a right beating didn't he

and the stuff in the future and comments about no federation, they are keen to show us that Archer has a pivotal role in the future I think

Liked the ending - showing the closeness between Archer and T'Pol. I just hope they are not setting the scene for a will they won't they with those two - it has been done to death in various SF shows in the last few years. If they wanna make it interesting how about Trip and T'Pol !!! that would be fun - mind you, last time he got involved with someone he got pregnant :rolly2:

Not a bad episode for the first in the new series. They showed Daniels and Archer configuring how to make a 'communication' device but not them using it if that makes any sense. Plus and I'm not one for finding faults just how did Archer manage to find T'Pols quarters (with the communication device) with no trouble at all. Did feel sorry for Malcolm being all beat up and that, Hoshi did well crawling thru the jeffries tubes, wouldn't have fancied that. Brave girl!!!!!!
