Now that we have a release date 4 R1 season2, MGM needs to give us a date (Month??? 2003)for R1 season3. It's like when you have a hard time getting a kid to take out the trash. You can ask the a million times, but they will not get it done until you force them to do it. Oh MGM! You guys have to try just a little harder and get your cans moving on the R1 SG1 DVDs. And don't think that you are off the hook as far as the R2 Season1 DVDs go. Its just silly to not want to make money off people like us (I bought R1 season1 twice! {don't ask}). Just do it. I'll use Jaffa jokes I sware.

I noticed that www.amazon.ca has R1 S1 DVDs listed, but not yet for sale, only pre-orders. Is this because amazon.ca is new or is Canada really getting left behind by marketing?

In general terms, R1-S1 has been available as a box set for a couple of years now. I have even bought one for here in the UK! It seems ridiculous that the country of origin is so late to get the product.

But, it is possible that there are country-specific releases, even within the "Region 1" zone, though since my copy already has French subtitles, this is perhaps unlikely.

SWEET!!!!!!!! www.gateworld.net just posted Info for Season3 R1 DVDs. Now was that so hard??? No.

Now MgM needs to keep the R1s going and get Season1 R2 out. That makes us(the fans) happy and it makes MGM happy(money).

That's the most bizarre bit - their decisions are costing them money on a daily basis!!

It's just silly. I could go out my door, walk down to Arizona State University, take one class and convert the R1 S1 to R2. I think that when the first season comes out for R2 that they should get some kind of extra DVD with the set, for MGMs lazyness. I hope someone at MGM reads this. I work 10 hours a day in 110f(43-44c??), I am not lazy. Two+ years and still no R2 S1, that is lazy. How meany button-pushers will it take? MGM just needs to TRY HARDER!!!!

On a side note. I would like to thank MGM for StargateSG1. It is by far the best thing on TV(thats hard to say due to the "Simpsons Factor") and I am very happy to have seen what great scifi can be. Now get back to work on those DVDs.

So, Tuco, you go to MGM's website, find their "Contact Us" link and send a polite letter telling them how much you like SG1 and how disappointed you are in their marketing department's failure to release DVDs to all regions in a timely manner.

The usual thought is that for every letter they receive at least 100 other people thought the same thing, but did not write. So such a letter carries the weight of 99 fellow travelers.

And yes, when you start talking $$$, TPTB do listen.

I have sent them 6 E-mails over the past year and a half. They are always polite and to the point. Don't worry, I wont let them rest.

The next strategy is to send an actual paper letter via snail mail. You'll probably get some sort of robo-letter response, but a paper letter makes an even grander statement of dedication than an email.
