The first ever episode of American Gothic.

The mysterious death of Merlyn Temple, a traumatized young girl, sets off a series of events that leave some townspeople questioning the motives of their charming sheriff, the last person to see her alive.

This episode sets the tone for the entire series. It answers a bunch of questions, but asks a whole bunch of others at the same time. ie: it doesn't leave you hanging, wondering *who* killed Merlyn, you know from the beginning, but you *do* begin to wonder about the Sheriff and his intentions.

It's a good 1st episode. It draws you in and makes you want to get to know this town and figure out how they get along w/ this Sheriff.

I also liked the music for the series. Very spooky.

It did make you want to know what happens next with the death of Merlyn. How the sheriff managed to get away with it?
