1:11: 'Til The Blood Runs Clear.
Aeryn accompanies John to a planet to have Farscape 1 repaired. When a holographic notice from Crais puts a bounty on the crew, a pair of bountyhunters (in some very strange sheepskins) show up. John then poses as a bounty hunter. As part of the pretense, he is forced to participate in torturing D'Argo, and teaches Aeryn about the "Alpha Male."
1:12: Rhapsody In Blue.
The epy where we find out about Zhaan and the Delvians.
The Delvians trick the crew into visiting their planet by first giving the guys wet dreams about their former ladies (Crichton to Rygel: "Wives. Plural? Big fellah!"). We, again, get to see some of Crichton's background: his girlfriend he never proposed to because they were separated by work.
When they arrive on the planet we find out a few new things: (1) the other Delvians have blonde hair, eyebrows, make-up (and, inevitably, wear wonderbras - y'all can tell it's getting late, can't you?); (2) they perform Unity with one another, the sharing of souls and minds, regularly, for pleasure; (3) they have the ability to affect other people's minds, even across a viewing screen; (4) Zhaan's secret about her people is revealed: they, as a natural way of their people, move toward rage and violence to such an extent, they go mad.
The Delvians want Zhaan to perform Unity with them because she of all Delvians has gotten past the madness and her former life of rage. But after one performance of Unity with their leader, Tahleen, Zhaan is again taken over by the rage and madness. It takes Unity with John to bring her back. He tells her to see herself as he sees her, gentle, giving, caring.
And this epy contains my favorite lines:
Crichton: Hey! Those are my underwear!
Aeryn: (looking at the tag in the back) What does this say?
Crichton: Calvin.
Aeryn: Then they're not yours.
1:13: The Flax.
Yikes! I don't remember much about this one . . .
Rygel is playing at his own game with two new scoundrels that come on board. He's so sneaky, he "loses" a game of chance, "turning over" information that gets them to leave the ship (of course, Zhaan almost kills him first).
D'Argo eventually goes with this other person/species to find an abandoned Luxon ship which might help him find his way home, but instead goes back to save Crichton and Aeryn who are in a prowler running out of oxygen (unfortunately a little too soon, as they were just about to . . .) And it turns out this "person" is the female of its species and she likes D'Argo . . . (run, D'Argo, run!).
1:14: Jeremiah Crichton.
When John gets "fed up" with life aboard Moya, he goes for a drive aboard Farscape 1. Moya then decides on her own to starburst, and John appears to be marooned in (a somewhat primitive - no electricity) paradise. When D'Argo and Rygel finally get there to rescue him, it turns out that Rygel is a god ("The slug who would be king)! The Hynerians had ruled over the civilization, creating a secret text that only the Priests could read, which told of a time when a god would come and lift them up to the light. It turned out this meant the structure the Hynerians had built to prevent electricity and travel of any kind would be broken, allowing the civilization to travel on its own.
This is the eppy when John realizes that the rest of the crew actually like him, when D'Argo tells him that it was Moya who chose to starburst, not the crew telling her to. They spent months looking for him, and no one wanted to be the one to stop the search. I think he also believed for the first time that he could take care of himself. It is after this eppy that he finally resorts to carrying a gun on his "away missions."
1:15: Durka Returns.
A new actor joins the cast.
After coming out of Starburst, Moya collides with another, smaller vessel, which is damaged. The crew allows them to come aboard while their vessel is being repaired. This is the first time we see the Nebari, and Gigi Edgley makes her debut as Chiana. Chiana has a collar around her neck, which inflicts pain if she does or says anything the Nebari keeping her prisoner do not like. The crew is not really told what crime she has supposedly committed, but find out Chiana is being returned to her home world in order to be "mind cleansed."
The other person brought on board is Durka. The first time we saw him was aboard the Zelbinian (when Crighton met pkgirl, Gillena), allegedly dead. He was infamous for torturing prisoners, and Rygel had been one of his victims. He was considered a great Peacekeeper. The Nebari claimed Durka had been mind cleansed over many years, and that he was no longer a threat (a pretense he kept for awhile).
In the end, the Nebari ended up dead (Chiana?), and Durka returned to his old ways. But he wasn't able to outwit Aeryn and Moya's crew.
