ok, i was just watching this movie on tv and i thought i recognized the kid in it as little jarod. then next thing i know there's this old guy that looks like mr. parker. sure enough the movie's called everything that rises. it stars dennis quaid as a rancher. Ryan Merriman a.k.a. little jarod plays his son and Harve Presnell a.k.a. mr. parker plays an older ranch hand named garth. here's the imdb thing on it:
