According to the official Comic-Con International site Corin Nemec is to be at the con presenting a panel on Stargate SG1.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn) will be part of a panel discussing the SciFi channel's new show Stargate Sg1.
No one but Nemec is listed as specifically being part of the panel so it might just be the network's people (I have no idea how these things operate so don't take me as a knowing or official source). The con is held in San Diego, CA Aug. 1-4. This panel will be held in the mid-morning (Sat.)

As things are subject to change, be sure to check the site for updates and changes.

Andromeda women, too

Hi! There will also be a "Women of Andromeda " autographs with Lexa Doig and Laura Bertram at the Inksworks booth (the company that makes the Andromeda trading cards. And if LD is in San Diego, could MS be far behind? ;) ;) ;)

Comic con now says cast memberS - plural. Wonder who else will be there?

If anybody goes, can they post a summary for those of us who really don't have time/cash to fly all the way across the country at short notice ? :rolly2:

Comic-Con Fuzz

Well folks, we had another great year at Comic-Con. If you weren’t there we missed you. :(

I thought I’d drop in here and let you all know just what went down. So here it goes...

Sat in on an SG1 panel discussion; the guest speakers/hosts/whatever were Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn), Hank Cohen from MGM, and our old friend Joe Mallozzi, SG writer (one of).

They started the program with a few clips from the show to help introduce/reintroduce SG to the guests. Let it be noted that they never once showed the actual stargate in any of the clips. But they did show a few scenes from ‘Shadow Play’ and ‘Descent’ (including that neat effects scene with Jonas and the rings).

All three men expressed high hopes for a season seven. Hank Cohen even went as far as to say that “...If there is a season seven, Richard Dean Anderson will be in it...â€--do not make the mistake that he is confirming a season seven or that Richard will return for it, but rather (I guess) that one hinges upon the other.

When questioned about possible romance on the series, the panel mentioned that they had already done some Jack/Sam. Joe also joked about the grim fate of Carter’s would-be-could-be boyfriends. They then asked the audience what they thought of the whole J/S situation--I feel that there was a pretty fair break in ‘for’ and ‘against’ their romantic entanglement. While pointing out that there have been hints of Sam and Jack’s feelings for each other since season one, Joe Mallozzi was also careful to point out the trickiness of the situation by their being in the “military--for the time beingâ€. Let me tell you my eyebrow did a fairly good Teal’c impression upon hearing those words phrased as they were. But let’s not jump too high to conclusions. :erm:

Another question asked was concerning the molasses slow release of the region 1 DVDs versus the region 2(?) releases (who are apparently up to season 5 already). The marketing guy (who was in the audience) tried to answer that one. Bottom line: season 3 should be out on region 1 (N. America) on January 3, 2003. As most of you are already aware, season 2 comes out this September.

Joseph Mallozzi also tried to reassure Daniel fans by saying that it is possible that Daniel might be in 2 more episodes before the end of season 6. Christopher Judge apparently penned a script with a cameo scene in it for Michael Shanks, as well. JM said that Chris Judge was a “very good writerâ€. Rob Cooper is writing the last episode of the season and he is evidently writing Daniel in. Looks good folks.

Corin Nemec was extremely affable and received a warm welcome by both Stargate and “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose†fans who lined up to meet the man and possibly even get his autograph (which I did;) ).

There were plenty of other fantastic guests, events, and exhibitors, but that’s a story for another time. If anyone has questions concerning this or any other part of the con, please feel free to PM me or whatever.

Thanks for the report, Sandman! I hope that more panels with Stargate people are forthcoming in future San Diego Comic Cons!

Great report. Thanks, Sandman!

Do you mind if Post this report, with full credit given of course to you, over at the sg1_spoilme list?

Be my guest, Penguin. But if you wouldn't mind, would you try to keep it mostly intact so that no one gets it out of context. Thanks.
