I'm not a big fan of posting on mailing lists, as many of you know; these last months less than ever. I think ascifi is about the only place I popped in to say a word or two these last weeks. so you might be surprised to get a note from me about a new mailing list. if this shameless advertisement should violate any posting rules, I apologize. no offense intended. :blush:
the reason for the commercial break: I'm one of the moderators on this new list, and I think it *is* possible to have fun without agreeing on all and everything (in fact I think it's MORE fun if you have some kind of disagreement!) we're all fed up talking about the fandom and would like to go back talking about stargate instead (much more fun, if you ask me!)
below, you'll find the original message of the list owner. as for *my* list rules, I'd say: use common sense and spoiler space. I think you're all a kewl lot, and I'd enjoy chatting to you on this new list. look at it as an experiment in peaceful co-existence. it's a new start, and it might work, it might not - but heck, no risk, no fun!

An open group for all fans of Stargate to discuss the show in safety and comfort. This group wishes to recreate the tolerance for all views that once existed in this fandom.
If you want to argue, go somewhere else. If you can't accept other views, go somewhere else. If you can't discuss something without attacking fellow fans...you've got it. If you want to talk about Stargate in an open atmosphere, this is the place to do it.
All fans welcome, all views welcome and *protected*. This list has rules that will be abided by. Once you've read them, if you don't agree...go somewhere else. You are a guest on this list, act as a gracious guest and you will be treated as one. List acceptance is a privilege not a right, please don't abuse it.
In return you will receive a place where it is safe to talk about the show, where your opinion matters and will not be rudely dismissed, and where the moderators will actively see to it that this state continues and will never censor your views or tell you are wrong for feeling the way you do.
Like Daniel? Come on in. Like Jonas? Come on in. Like the team past or present, come on in. The moderators of this group do not believe that any of these are mutually exclusive. This list is neither pro nor anti-PTB but does expect comments to remain in the realm of good taste as outlined in the rules. It's been done before, we can do it again.

I know some of you are aware that I'm involved in the SDJ campaign, that does *not* mean that I have lost my ability to be fair and impartial as a list owner. It does not mean that my views or opinions have become less valid. It does not mean that everything I do is clouded by that involvement or my wish that things had been different. Nor does it mean that I cannot
see all sides or that this forum is in any way associated with that other part of my fandom life. Those of you who know me will accept my word, those who don't...I am sorry, but that is precisely what this list is being formed for.
What I do want is a place where we can all remember what it is to be a fandom again...
