Ever since its introduction in 1963, the crew of X-Men has always been volatile.
Not as badly as the Avengers, massing and breaking apart as their members passed their sell by dates, but generally bringing in new members with new powers, not retreads from elsewhere.

So with over forty members listed on the Marvel Comics site. Choose your ideal 6 man team and state why.

We'll match them against my bad guys in a couple of weeks;)

I'll name my baddies when we line them up. (note. Mine may not necesarily be from X-Men)

GREAT idea Ray, I am totally busy right now, but I thought I would stick a post in here so I remember to come back!

that's cool! ok, hmmmmm.....

cyclops - cause he's always been one of my favorites. that and i wish sometimes i could shoot lasers from my eyes!

shadow cat - cause she can move through walls and is great at computers

domino - cause we always need all the luck we can get, plus she's good with weapons

rouge - she's always been my other favorite, and she could steal your power

psylocke - she's got some cool TK abilities, plus you gotta love a chick w/ purple hair (and yes i know she's dead now)

beast - cause you always need on really stong guy

Ok, I am finally back. I don't have a great overall knowledge of The X Men comics, but there are several characters that I do know and like a lot, so I guess they will do as my picks.

I have always had a soft spot for Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat. But I haven't read anything more recent that about 15 years ago. I remember a whole storyline about her being mutated into some kind of feral being and being involved in a whole black magic thing - I loved that storyline.
I still like Jean Grey, so she would be on there. I also like Arcangel, and Beast, Wolverine, Colussus and Nightcrawler. I would have Captain Britain and Meggan as occasional guest stars too.

There you go!

edit ---> I just realised Ray said SIX Member team. D'uh Me.
My choices: Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Beast and Arcangel. I think that covers all the useful powers, plus has shadowcat cos I like her ;)

My team of nasties as promised:
Dr Doom - Ringleader. Visionary and scientific Genius Marvel Universe
Juggernaut - Unstopable force
Banshee - For the paralyzing scream
Super-Skrull - Anything I've missed Marvel Universe
Loki - God of Mischief and Magic. To reinforce the gobble-de-gook Marvel Universe
Onslaught - Xavier/Magneto's Very real combined alter ego- Speed and power
Black Cat - Speed and subterfuge (and the totty on the side) Spiderman

Seven as there is no single mastermind to counter Xavier.

Now can your whimpy little X-Men counter my victorious progress for world domination?

Or perhaps you would like a scenario, to prove your inferior abilities?

Muwahahhahaha! I think my guys are going to get their butt's kicked. You have some heavy hitters in there Ray, you headed for world domination with those guys or what?

But of course! :)

Here's my quick six. For me powers don't count for much.

Gambit-He's daring. A romantic. A theif with a sence of honor. He is also good with the staff.

Nightcrawler-he's fast. speccular with the sword. he also will be the team's heart.

Cyclops-Cool and confident leader.

Strom-lots of power their. Yet her fear clostiphobia often leaves her helpless.

Rougue-She can't touch anyone and has a super villian past hauting.

Bishop-Future warrior. always keeps a solger's demenor.
