Critters 3: Revenge of the Pom-Pom

Because I had a bad night and couldn't sleep I sat and watched this thing on the BBc at the weekend.

In what appears to be a cross between Critters and The Towering Inferno, the residents of a shoddy L.A. apartment block are chased up to the roof by hoards of the eponymous hairy horrors.

Fot those spared the sight of this comic horror: Critters are sooty coloured pom-poms, with red eyes and large mouths, filled with sharp teeth. That sums up most of the film as there are some seven extended shots of one of these things devouring what looks liked chili beans, with the obvious side effects.

The most horrifying thing about this film is the sound of the turkies flying home to roost. The most comic, watching various members of the cardboard cast trying to make out that they were in the malevolent jaws of one, or more, pom-poms. Managing to avoid any sense of suspense in the Critters possible actions, or even the firey inferno that awaits the heroic survivors downstairs

I remember being really scared when I saw the first Critters movie (but hey, I was only wee, I had an excuse), but I don't think I will be keeping an eye out for this one!

Saddest thing was, of course, I sat and watched it! There waas a perfectly serviceable 'B' on Two.

Critters was good. 2 was a little tired, but watchable. But I think I preferred the version with the cute ones. Just I can't remember the name of the film

I can't believe they made 3 of these films, how did the Critters come to a city? I thought the first one was cool but after that, it's just your standard sequel.

There is worse. There is a fourth.

I haven't watched it- Even I'm not that big an insomniac!

Are you serious?! I can only imagine how bad that one was. I'll steer clear of it.

The fourth flim takes place 400 years from and is in outer space. Space Crew wise it was a lot is common with Firefly. Mainly the fact the captain dresses in western duds.

As four no 3 I loved the scene where the lady was dangling outside and couldn't stay in one place long enough to dial. Of course Charlie is a hoot. The only character that appears in all 4 movies. With Ug giving a bit part in 4 and cameo in 3.

I found out an interesting fact about this movie. It was the movie debute and Leonardo DeCaprio. He played the kid who idealized Charlie.

Critters are awsome man
