I am more than a bit annoyed, not just by the opprobrium heaped on the heads of those who dare to voice their objection to the addition of Quinn to S.G.-1, I am also sick and tired of the blithe assumption that that objection is solely a reaction to the departure of Dr. Jackson.
For the last time - positively the last time - it is not.
It is all down to the question of National Security, which I am not going to restate here, so you can all breathe a sigh of relief.
So just, please, stop caning those who feel that Quinn is a non-starter in S.G.-1 as some kind of lachrymose die-away teenagers mourning the loss of their 'eye-candy', because we're not!
If you want proof, check out some of my fiction. You'll find a number of stories set after the death of Dr. Jackson. They're good. Go read them if you haven't already. Specifically, read ' 'Brane Child', in which S.G.-1's fourth member is Nyan.

And perhaps someone would care to tell me why Nyan was passed over in favour of Quinn. He's already proved himself by putting his own life on the line to save S.G.-1, and was then dragged through the Stargate by Teal'c (I think) who knew Nyan had burnt his boats by his action. He's since been working under the aegis of Dr. Jackson for two years. Yes, O.K., probably Richard Ian Cox wasn't available. It's the principle of the thing I'm driving at here.
Alternatively, try 'Poles Apart', my latest complete fic. which introduces Frankie as a potential fourth member. She is not a Daniel clone.

I've even written a couple of fics. in which Quinn has a starring role...
That's it. Done now. Not coming back so you can say what you like. To quote Sir Peter Teazel in Sheridan's 'The School for Scandal':
"I go now, but I leave my character behind me."
Best wishes,
Hatshepsut - the thoroughly brassed off.
